Danny left Barnsley because of the ball and noted as a "trouble maker!" He left Villa and joined Spurs because Arsenal wouldn't pay what Spurs did,which was the asking price.Later left the Chelsea managership because he was "unsuccessful!" In between he had a lot of fun and success.
I believe playing for Ireland against Scotland,Dennis Law did his best to cripple Danny,but Danny took it in his stride!
It was always a pleasure to watch Danny play.I particularly enjoyed it when he had Tommy Harmer in the team as well. Wonderful footballers ...and football!
I think we've been very lucky at Spurs even though not always successful...….

Lovely to see Danny Boy again, can't believe that was 42 years ago as I remember it first time round! Doubt we'll ever have a better captain. Nice to see Greavsy too on his 79th birthday. I am so glad I was an active supporter during (and after) their reigns. In fact, the more time goes on the more you appreciate all they achieved.

I quite liked Kudos Oyenuga when he was with us. Never saw him making it but thought he stood a good chance of making it at a lower division FL club. I was scouting recently on a non league goalkeeper we’ve been keeping an eye on and Kudos was playing for the opposition.
Goodness me, he was complete shyte. Looked a poor player, dreadful positional awareness and with an awful touch. On the day, I couldn’t believe how downhill he had gone.
 
My first "official" game was Aug 1953 v Aston Villa ( and Danny,although I didn't know who he was....then!).Although my stepdad took me as a nipper to a game in the forties.....and lost me (deliberately?)

Most definitely. I was 17 in '59 & never missed a home game & very few aways. Watching these old Spurs films is like watching your past again, the nostalgia is immense. 70,000 crowd was mentioned & that was the norm! All those people and I do not recollect any trouble, fighting or even foul language back then! I think that started in the '70's. Loved seeing all the old cars parked & the visitors coach & all the bikes. I used to park my bike for sixpence in an old couples front room when I was about 13! Best of all was seeing the nucleus of our beloved Double side 2 years before that great season and remembering how Saturdays were really special for so many, especially 3 o/clock. Thanks Deedub for a lovely trip down memory LANE. COYS.

Gosh,I parked my bike with an elderly lady in,I think,the first house on the left in Park Lane.....when I didn't walk.I started to visit Warmington House when I was about 17 when John Harris was supporters sec. I became a life Spurs Supporter in 1957...….apparently it's all changed and I wasn't on their list!!!! I still have my SSC membership booklet. George Robb was my first Spurs hero.....then along came Dave Mackay...…...
