Whatever the 'Ultras' group said or wanted, the public line from the club at the time was that the stand moves were called for by Steve Bruce after Aluko had missed a penalty in front of a North stand full of Sunderland fans trying, successfully as it turned out, to put him off.

Now it isn't hard to believe that the club don't always tell the truth, but the suggestion that the club used the Ultras as an excuse to move people is simply not true. It was never attributed to them, but to the manager at the time.

Yeah I remember hearing a bit of that too, but it was probably during that weird phase where the club claimed everything they were doing was APs idea originally to try and make us agree with it.

Why is it happening now?

Because Nick Thompson got on the SAG and got round the issues that had prevented the previous two chairman from sorting it. In addition, Steve Bruce wanted it, so it was given a higher priority.

Will it work?

It may be a reason, given the role the ulltras played in the name change campaign and the positions they held on the committee, why there was no organised campaign by CTWD against the move.

In my view Ehab saw the financial benefits and grabbed the opportunity with both hands. The club statements at the time were just window dressing. The division between supporters only made the evictions easier.

None of the Ulltras were on the CTWD committee, although one of their main advocates was.

By the time the stand move happened, CTWD had distanced the Ulltras because key Ulltras individuals had betrayed confidences about the campaign's business.

CTWD had nothing to do with the stand move, weren't consulted about the stand move and never came to a collective opinion about the stand move. It simply wasn't our business at that time.

Whilst I was on the committee two members of the ulltras attended the meetings, including the one who betrayed our confidences.

I now accept that CTWD's inactivity was down to it being none of its business at the time.

This is why I said a few posts up that I think FEZ was right (easier with hindsight) by going to meet and negotiate with the Allams the fans gave some form of credibility to their plans and as we are seeing now the blame is put back onto those fans.

You're entitled to your opinion. I've my own reasons for posting as I do on this. I'd rather not bother, but every now and again I trip over some dust under the carpet.

On the one hand you're saying the fans shouldn't have met the Allams, yet others are claiming they never met them on this issue. Not all the meetings were with the Allams. Cryptic perhaps, but there it is.

The process may have started before May 2014 but when were supporters told if the letters didn't go out until then?

CTWD voted to become a Supporters Trust by merging with the Tigers Coop before April 2014. Only a pedant would have complained if CTWD had campaigned against the evictions on the grounds they weren't a trust. However that is irrelevant as the CTWD Committee at that time didn't think it was any of their business.

I was evicted
I have no evidence at all, but I suspect some fans thought it was a good idea and suggested it...the owners thought it fitted their wishes (financially and because it moved us hooligan oiks out of their eyeline) so decided to do it
I also suspect they couldn’t give a **** about supporters, and even less of a **** about noisy protesting ones so they implemented it in an appalling fashion. That may have been a mixture of lack of ability in running an football club, lack of ability to delegate so everything is last minute or deliberately spiteful, we’ll never know.

If I get evicted again I’d probably cancel my pass and either not bother or more likely go on a mini tour around the ground annoying everyone by standing up in front of them
