On a serious note though, I'm a little surprised Juve have given him so much money even if they don't need to pay a transfer fee. I don't know if that £400k p/w includes the signing-on fee as well, but that's big money for a player who has been inconsistent for us over the last 10 years.

I wish him all the best, though. He's been a good professional and scored some important goals for us. I'm sure he'll enjoy competing for league titles and Champions Leagues whilst earning big money. Even if I don't think he's a particularly great player.

I'd be interested to know how many players earn more than that. probably only a dozen or so, even in these inflated days? Or am I being naïve? Could cause issues in the dressing room.

He'll allegedly be the second-highest earner to Cristiano Ronaldo.

I don't know how the likes of Chiellini, Pjanic, Dybala, Matuidi and Sandro will feel about that considering they are all better players and have been loyal servants to Juventus...

It's a huge risk by Juve to give him that much £.

Proper mugged off. Surely some of them are going to ask for a bumper payrise. I understand a superstar like ronaldo as the fans he brings. Ramsay though, they probably could have paid him a third and hed have bit your hand off

Yeah madness, mate. Looking at their main CMs of Khedira, Pjanic and Matuidi... is he even better than those? I don’t think so. Yet he’s likely earning at least twice than what each of them are.

Good morning gentlemen. Sarri's been given two weeks to save his job and I don't know why he doesn't do himself a favour and resign. They have the Manchesters and us coming, matches they will lose.

It’s a messy one there. Chelsea committed the cardinal sin of hiring a manager who not only wants to play in a style that doesn’t fit the players he had already at the club, but is too stubborn to change his ways to boot, even in the short term to buy him and his players time.

Plus you could argue that the way he wants to play just doesn’t work in this league - Jorginho is a **** Harry Winks and while the latter is still a bit of a divisive figure amongst us Spurs fans, I think it’s fair to say he’s made an admirable go at adapting to playing as the deepest-lying midfielder this season, where Jorginho is having a torrid time. Sarri-ball, whatever that is, just isn’t working.

On top of all of this they are a squad in transition from their last title winning team, Sarri has a lot of problems aside from the style of play. He’s had to integrate a new young foreign keeper, Hazard wants to leave, Cahill and Alonso are declining. He’s got a job on his hands.

The irony is that they have some fantastic young players in that squad for once and I really think if they had Kante, Loftus-Cheek and Kovakic in midfield with Hudson Odoi, Hazard and now Higuaín up top then they’d be dangerous. Thankfully for us I don’t think we’ll ever see that team from Sarri.

If it wasn’t Chelsea I’d almost feel sorry for the fans.

Lampard has ruled himself out of contention should Sarri leave which leaves just John Terry with any intrinsic ties with Chelsea which, I feel, is what they need like OGS at Utd. Sarri doesn't fit the bill.

in a squad to damage the cohesion and motivation (merci, Arsene) .
 
As per usual, we have uniform "analysis" of ManU recent form. There are a lot of pundits saying things, why is it they all say the same thing? Yes of course it's a better start than anyone expected but to hear the pundits you would think that ManU have steamrollered every team they've played. Why try to analyse how they could easily have lost against Burnley and us when you can trot out cliches about "unshackled" and "got our United back". The lack of proper discussion is deafening. Luck of course is not a factor, like coming up against PSG with a couple (or more) of their best players missing. Luckily they're playing Pool next so at least we might get a balanced refereeing performance - he won't know who to give the dodgy decisions to!
