As you probably know, Chicago is situated right on Lake Michigan. When the wind comes from the north it comes straight down across the lake with nothing blocking its path.,.it seems to go straight through you...

I was halfway up a mountain skiing (badly) in that weather in Poland, so it was probably another 3-4 degrees lower. Everybody I met on the slopes had a hip flask with either Vodka or a Hot toddy of some kind. So everytime I fell over, which was often, somebody would come and give me a shot. I was ****ing leathered by the time I made it back down to the ski hut
