I see that it’s -45c in Chicago, which reminds me of my last winter living there.

If you’ve never experienced cold like that, it’s so cold you can’t really even breathe properly.

Coldest temperature I’ve experienced is -18 or around that in Romania.

We have a snow day today, possibly the worst day of the year it could have happened work-wise.

Is that wind chill temperature?

Experienced -18 in Poland a few years ago. It's a whole new level of cold when it gets to that level. It's literally like stepping into a deep freezer. I quite like it that cold though as it's a dry icy cold. So none of this ****ing wet sludgy mank we get in the UK.

The US has got a polar vortex coming atm. They reckon Chicago will be -35 and some parts of the Midwest will get down to -53 ! <yikes>

Good old pumpy trumpy has got it covered though <laugh>

I had to meet somebody in Brasov for a deal I was brokering, we showed the buyer the materials and that took 4 hours in freezing cold conditions and about a foot of snow. About 15 minutes before we left, the warehouse bloke set fire to a load of pallets outside to keep warm. Thanks for that mate, I’ll just go and get my frostbite feet amputated now <doh>
