    What else did they say? A work colleague of mine saw a lot of him while covering the Championship and says he’s strong, fast, hard-working and direct. Plus he’s a more than able finisher.

    Having seen how many of our Championship squad rose to the challenge of playing in the Premier League, I am more than happy for Saints to be pursuing young players from that level.
    According to the Mirror, an £8 million bid has been rejected, with other clubs sniffing around, including Wolves. Let’s hope he wants to come south for some sunshine.

    Signing young players from the Championship etc is excellent. Some of our best buys have come from doing that. We've gotten away from doing that in recent seasons, so its great to see us being linked with more promising young players.

    Or he could ring Andrew Surman and discuss what Wolverhampton has to offer ...

    For those not aware, allegedly when AS went to Wolves he and his partner lived outside Wolverhampton but his partner apparently asked for them to move into the town itself. It is further alleged that she was then upset as for some reason she didn't enjoy living there either. So presumably she was delighted when he made a move - to Norwich (<doh>). I have no information on whether the relationship withstood this episode.

    Seems like Reed is having another very good season in the Championship. Blackburn fans are very keen on him. He seems like a Hasenhuttl type of player but he's 24 now and CM is probably our strongest position. I'm sure Ralph will want to have a look at him in the summer, but a decision needs to be made. We either keep and use him, or it's time to sell so he can get on with his career.

    We're a bigger club with far better facilities and we'll pay a higher salary. Our football is going to be better than theirs, too.

    Plus, Ocean Village > Burnley. And not far from London. (appreciate he's not a London boy but it does tend to help)
