...you all know we have to win a replay to get into the 4th round?
I'm just happy not to be out...I do like a cup draw...even if we are either/or. What I don't want (fates are you listening?) is an EPL side....boring! I want the carrot to be an 'easier' draw preferably at SMS.....even if that means disappointing a lowly team hoping for a ManU or Liverpool. It will add spice to the game for Saints and Derby to know the next round is winnable.

As for winning...Derby is a good side so no chickens being counted, but things surely must swing our way at home. Can't remember if I counted that bantam or not<whistle>

And I don't want Pompey...the chance of losing (and the subsequent pain) is too high a price to pay just for the chance of winning. You are dealing with a coward here....there is no sofa big enough for a Saints v Pompey game.:emoticon-0107-sweat

I do get that but just can't help myself, it would be utterly awful if they beat us though.

I feel sick just thinking about the fact we could be one win away from meeting them.

We'd probably lose to Derby anyway <laugh>

Under Pellegrino, every time we got even a one goal advantage, we got deeper and deeper until the inevitable happened. I certainly don’t want to see us go back to that.
In retrospect, we should have changed something at 2-0 yesterday, but not sat too far off them either, so yeah, maybe three at the back. Vestergaard (who has improved massively under Ralph) did not look remotely comfortable at any point yesterday. Neither did both FB’s.

We just don’t have a back 4 that’s good enough. We seem to be able to press enough for a time to keep the pressure off them but as soon as the opposition bite back due to going behind or changing to 442 the press breaks down. So with the current squad we need a 3rd CB. That actually helps the press sometimes as a defender can help the press knowing there’s cover. Though that can go wrong with the better teams if they bypass them eg Arsenal game and Bednarek

Cup bookings don't count towards league matches (and likewise the other way around). But yes, a red card for Romeu yesterday would have been disaster, in terms of the Leicester match next.

Forgot that. So why didn’t Pierre play Saturday?

Is he out for 3 or 4 games?

except we've won more away than we have at home this season!

You think a cup game at Fratton is the same as a standard away? <yikes>

The biggest advantage of being at home is that because of the bubble, if we trampled them then they can't even leave.

Can you imagine, 4000 crying Skates watching the 4th goal go in with twenty minutes to go still?

They wouldn't be able to leave, they'd just have to stand there and take 28,000 people laughing at them for the rest of the match.

It'd be ****ing marvellous.

I'm not sure that would be enough with twenty still to go.
