I'm proud to say I'm English although when abroad they think I'm Danish, Dutch or anything but English.
I support the English teams that I'm interested in (football, rugby) not interested in cricket one bit or tennis and, you couldn't pay me to be interested in athletics.
Being English is all about being fair minded and looking out for the little bloke the underdog if you will, we have had our moments in history which unfortunately cannot be changed that's life. Being fairly patriotic I'd say that my country although ran by muppets and populated in the minority by sponging toss pot low lifes is still a great country, as the one or two decent people who live here are well worth the effort.
I would also say that I am proud to be British as most Scots and Welsh and some Irish would also say after their own home countries of course. I'm also proud to have done my small part in keeping this glorious island nation of ours safe and secure.

The Union Jack means NOWT to me like. I'm gonna be called a racist no doubt but along with America we are the most despised country in the world imo. People are jealous of us plain and simple. Yes we are percieved as being arrogant but I think our history is second to none.(That's arrogance for ya haha) Blatter, Platini and many more can't stand us because they don't like it that we invented so many things/sports etc.
You may laugh but even something as daft as the Eurovision song contest...we come last all the time cos (a) we are crap (admittedly) but (b) no one votes for us as we have "no mates" so to speak!
Like I said, America is despised by alot of countries and us being their main allies doesn't help I suppose. Even Scotland, Wales and Eire hate us man. The only Home nations Football team I root for other than England is Northern Ireland...
 
UK and USA are despised as you say mate but where does everyone want to be? not Kazakstan for a kick off.

Comm I don't understand how anyyhing you have said there could be construed as being racist, I'm an ardent anti fascist and I certainly don't.
as to being English Living in Scotland has made me more proud to be English just because of all the **** that I have to take. To me being English is a lot of things community, pride, acceptance........I could go on but some times it hard to describe.
 
Ok one thing I LOVE about us (and the U S of A) is that we are like Ghostbusters. Many hate us, but, "who you gonna call?" Its us and the yanks.

Nowt wrong with our attitude, but we are in danger of losing it.

You feel remote from the royal family, politicians and the police????? How close did you used to be to them all? Must have lived in a canny street! Englishness to me is how you are brought up and the people around you. I read a great book called watching the English. All about English traits, funny and in a lot of cases true!
 
I'm half-Italian, so in the football there is another step away from England; yes I support them but I wouldn't pay insane amounts of money for something like a ticket to a game, or even a shirt. That said, I would like to see an England game, or at least some international that has a relation to me.
 
I'm not proud to be English at the moment as I feel the country is broken on so many levels (economy, leadership, political correctness, immigration policy etc etc)
 
I'm not British, and you can forget any of that European Bollox.

I was born in England, so that makes me English. I've lost count of the number of times I've stayed somewhere and it's been full of 'British' people who list their nationalities as Welsh, Irish or Scottish. People praise them for being proud of where they were born, but list your nationality as English and the PC ****ers turn their noses up at you as if you've just asked them to eat a **** burger. The English identity has been eroded away by governments and the media to the point where we're occasionally vilified for being proud of where we're born. I'm roud to be English and will always be proud.

BTW I've got something else to be proud of, I'm a northener living in the midlands and I love it, I have a distinct separate identity to those around me and tbh the women love the Durham accent. (yeah, I've had to kick arse when some the local boys keep calling me a geordie, but cos I stand my ground over who am I, I've earn't the respect. Now everyone knows I'm a black cat and not a mag.)

As long as you know who you are, who cares what others think (as long as the ****ers don't mistake you for a mag, then everythings good)

Who does all that cause offence too really though. Its normally wooly thinking left wing revistionist town hall twats rather than normal people. This then plays into the hands of the right wing tabloid press who stoke it up for their own agenda. I will give you a perfect example. My mate lives in Whitechapel, he is a Muslim, his little girls primary school banned hot cross buns being brought in by kids at Easter so as "not to cause offence". It was a white middle aged do gooder woman shool govenor who made the call to ban them not the parents. He got together with a group of other parents and sent them a letter telling them not to be so ****ing stupid and to stop thinking they knew what they did or did not find offencive.

That would have been reported in the press as "Easter Banned to not Offend Muslims". There are some people who come to this country and take the piss, if people don't want to accept the values of their adopted country they should **** off, they are however in the minority.

I am proud to be English/British call it what you will. We have a great history, we invented the modern world, we had a few dodgy moments along the way but you can't judge history with the values off the present. We have a country where upon the whole our institutions are not corrupt. In most countries around the world the population is afraid of its police force and politicians, its the exact opposite in this country, they are scared of us because they can be voted out in free and fair elections.

I used to enjoy being English, before multiculturalism eroded everything we held dear. I have never encountered a pro-MultiCultist who can answer this question:

How is this statement immoral or wrong:

We Jews must secure the existence of our people and a Jewish future for our children

You see, if that cannot be shown by MultiCultists to be "racist" and "hate", then we English people cannot be racist or "hating" when we seek to end the MultiCult and secure our right to life and the ancestral land.

Of course, there is no racism or hatred or any form of moral illegitimacy in such an act of self-defence. Indeed, self-defence is always morally unimpeachable.

For this reason, all those who support the colonisation of England are themselves morally illegitimate. They don't have a Marxist leg to stand on.

As a left/socialist A Jew saying they have to safe guard their future for their children is a racist comment, just the same as the rest of your claptrap. This Country had been "Colonised" since pre history. Celts, Saxons, Norsemen and Normans are all seen as indigenous people have all colonised this land. Too me been English is all about been able to absorb others and not some narrow minded Idea based on the colour of your skin. We are a bastardised nation with a bastardised language and I love us as a nation for that.
 
Due to my family living in Australia, I spend a lot of time there. In Perth, Western Australia to be exact.

Due to Perth's extreme isolation, immigration is often used to fill employment gaps, after all, no more cities for thousands of KM.

One thing I notice, is how immigration is handled far less heavy handed than in the UK. Immigrants are generally welcomed, and integrate pretty well, sure there are traditionalist Australians who oppose is but nowhere near the opposition to immigration that we see in England.

But Australia, even with its far shorter history than England has a strong national identity, that many immigrants buy into. I suppose being founded upon immigration helps to keep social cohesion. You see how worked up Aussies get at most sports, there is definitely a national pride, but it seems many Aussies see immigration as irrelevant as to whether they can have, or be proud of their national identity.

After all we live in a globalised world, travel and communication between countries is easier than ever, if we simply close the doors for the sake of pride, we -will- get left behind.

Then you have the complete opposite in countries like Thailand, where Thailand is for Thai's end off.

You can-not legally own land, although there are ways around it i.e, through a company.

You can-not work and do a job a thai can do. You can set up a company and be the boss, but actually work, no.

You can own a bar, but are not allowed to serve......

They adore their king, and it's a big no-no to say anything against him, or prison could await you.

Guessing every country is different, and in a foreign country you respect THEIR laws and regulations.
 
I always thought getting into Australia was very hard to do, no offence to any nation, but in the UK you will get Romanians/Polish working as farm hands etc, in Australia you need mega qualifications, referances etc etc to be allowed to work there. So the jobs that a lot of people can do are filled with mostly Australians, who otherwise would be unemployed, but the very skilled labour, can go outside as not all Australians can do it, so there is a shortage for say Doctors as an example.
