Was quoted in the Liverpool press as £3m plus add on's amounting to £4m, in term s of value for money, we got ripped off. Who the hell scouted him for us and proposed he would be a decent signing! He's never shown anything since the outset, and the way he dawdles on the ball suggests it isn't a confidence issue. All transfers don't work out for various reasons, this is one of them as it stands!

Lest we forget, he once, whilst under contract with us, volleyed a football into a bin in his back garden, allegedly at the first time of asking.

Harsh ****s.

To be fair, I've seen him a couple of times for Liverpool and he looked a tidy player.

I have to say when he came I thought he would be a good signing and I said so. I have seen him 3 or 4 times in live games prior to him joining us and was impressed with him. Why he is ****e is a bit of a mystery to me, as there is a player in there somewhere but he certainly hasn't produced it for us.

Yeah, when he started playing so poorly, I always thought it was clearly down to a very bad attitude, rather than lack of ability. He certainly had a lot of ability.

Dunno much about his attitude, I don't think he was ever the same after doing his cruciate against Ipswich; before that he was unplayable at times.

He was probably at his best immediately after coming back from that injury.

I remember he made his comeback from it at Derby away in Barmby's first match as manager. He picked up where he'd left off, opening them up and scoring. Then for the next few games he was just as good. Over the next few months after that though he just faded and got worse and worse.

I wouldn't disagree, its all turned out completely the opposite for some unexplained reason

Stay or Go?

I've heard enough of his bull**it, its tedious and on top of that I'm not impressed by his tactics, or lack of!

Personally Nigel, you walked into a firestorm, its raging around you and the flames are engulfing you, do us all a favour and go!
Yep.

Interesting thread resurrection this. Amazing what a difference a couple of months can make.

So many people calling for his head no matter who the replacement would be yet as it turned out he was on the cusp of a very dramatic turn around.
