He's had his beat bus in front of Best Stand last two games.

Think he might get more reaction behind East or North Stand.

It's all a bit 'Floral Dance' in front of main entrance.
 
Talking of photos, well OLM was, there is an exhibition of photos taken by Dr Alec Gill, local historian, held in the Brynmor Jones Library Hull Uni until January. He took over 6,000 photos and this exhibition is only of a very few, circa 1970's, all black & white photos. There are also some photos, taken by Innes, not sure if that meant Donald Innes who has a studio/shop in Hessle Square, of the City Of Culture, I went along to both exhibitions over the weekend and the Alec Gill photos were on display at the Hull History Centre a while back. The Innes photos, whilst very good, I was disappointed that it only contained about a dozen pictures, they are on display at the Streetlife Museum High St.

Due to a terrible scheduling oversight I had to miss tonight's game against Norwich. However, I had a great evening at the New Theatre. Manfred Mann (with both Mike D'Abo and Paul Jones) were excellent but Georgie Fame was really superb - wall to wall brilliant musicians.

Saw Manfred Mann on my14th birthday at Brid Spa in 1964. In the days when groups used to come on play a few hits and depart in about 20 minutes they did over 2 hours.They were really excellent. Paul Jones was Brian Jones preferred choice for the singer when forming the Stones but Paul told him no one would make a living out of singing blues music. No one, least of all themselves, would have thought in 1964 these acts would still be playing over half a century later.
Had to laugh a few years back when Prince Buster was on Jools Holland and Georgie Fame was on. Some clown said Georgie Fame spoilt it as he didn't fit in and why was he there? Someone had to point out to him that the reason he was there was that Prince Buster had requested he be on as he had played on a number of his early recordings.

Alec Gill is sitting on a hill of great old Hessle Rd pics.

He's badly advised about what to do with them, so we won't see most of them any time soon.

Allegedly.

I heard Innes lost a lot of their old pics in a fire a few years back .

I think that Alec was advised by the BAFTA winning filmmaker Paul Berriff who is from Hessle I believe.

Seems Paul Berriff is from Headingley.

Brian Lavery seems to have owned the triple trawler tragedy with his recent book which with the support of his wife Kath who is on the council has got permanent massive advertising with that gable end mural down Anlaby Road. Then there was the COC2017 play by that lass from Salford and the recent tv doc.

Hope Alec Gill can get a decent book out which does his subject matter justice. He has enough pix for more than one coffee table type book.

At his exhibition at History Centre. it was rammo - there is a lot of interest from old Hessle Roaders and their offspring.

Ruper Creed's book 'Turning the Tide' is a good factual accounbt of the triple trawler tragedy, written in late 90s so many more alive to give their opinions. The story of the St Romanus beggars belief.

I know we live in a H &S age but ****in hell, what was allowed to happen then was unbelievable..

Think most on here know what the Silver Cod trophy was given for.

It actually got stopped in the late 60s because it encouraged skippers and owners to take dangerous risks that exposed crews to lethal risk.
