  2. I don't want that vote. If we do it will result in a no deal. I still want us to leave with the minimum of damage. Are the predictions of how bad no deal will be exaggerated? Yeah most probably. Do I want us to take that risk? No.
I'm still hoping pretty much all of us will get something out of this that we can live with. I'm not sure why as I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was 43...

  4. Yes. Other threads are just full of abuse where as at least people by and large try to see each other's views here.

We've been threatened with blood on the streets if Brexit is denied. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Old, white (red faced) males (mostly) versus young people and women (mostly).

Which side of the barricades are you on?

If you think that is the way Pro/Anti Brexit supporters are (mostly) divided then you’re, in my opinion, wrong.
I would suggest more middle class possibly voted remain though ;)

Agree a vote would only divide the country even more and would cause unrest if remain won. I hear what people say about democracy however if you strip back the fundamentals of the vote it was clear. Leave/remain. People who never voted before made the effort. People who said they didn’t trust the political elite but would vote.... if you betray these people then the word democracy is worthless. The EU don’t understand the word and make countries vote through bullying to get the result. Their bullying will be their undoing.
As for what sort of deal we get...we need to be strong or otherwise this Brexit thing will never end.

Brexit is without doubt the biggest thing to happen in the UK for decades and it’s impact has split the country. You cannot expect one half to be pleased and roll over especially when the Brexiteers haven’t stopped crowing for two years

I believe their will be plenty of doubt within the side that democratically won at that time 52/48

I accept the result but do not accept that this is the will of the people today after having two years

Brexiteers will face hatred imo as soon as the first thing goes wrong after we leave I expect a massive swing prior to March

The hatred of the EU is evident enough on here by some Brexiteers that’s the hypocrisy imo

The only way imo to heal this wound is a second vote because if Brexit won and no one can really say then you would at least get acceptance and following that unity that’s the only way imo to heal the hurt .... it’s called making sure and what’s more I would make it a minimum of 60/40 whichever way it would go

Brexiteers certainly can’t run the country on their own plus Scotland and NI must be given the right to become part of the EU if they vote to

Only then will everyone see that this was a protest vote

I saw a poll last week that had stay in EU on 54% and both No Deal and the Cabinet approved deal way behind. I was in the UK most of September and other than in the media I heard little mention of Brexit, what there was mostly people calling it for what it is a huge mess, and wanting it stopped. But toxic - after 2.5 years there didn't seem much left.
