The FA is the governing body for all of English football, not just the national team. Everything from Sunday League to the FA Cup is managed by the FA.

If the PL ceased operating tomorrow, football would still continue in this country. In fact in many ways the PL would barely be missed. If the FA stopped operating, it would be chaos, there’d be no leagues, no referees, no one to oversee the laws of the game...

And it takes advantage of the Premier League to fund its continued existence!
I am not saying the FA isnt needed, but was just wondering why PL employees should give a **** about the national team.

Yeah I do too.

Big risk of doing a Leeds though. Parachute payments only last for a 3 year period.

Then you're one of a large number scrapping it out but with Southampton's academy you'd like to think you could either finance players by selling them or alternatively using them as a nucleus to get back up.

If the academy can continue to produce, that might be another bonus if we went down; more chances for homegrown players to get a start, and maybe if they’re in the Championship, Liverpool won’t have heard of them :emoticon-0105-wink:

Fair enough if you don’t give a **** about the national team. Personally I am delighted that after decades of disappointing us all, they finally appear to be on the right track, but there is no reason why you or anyone else should feel that way.

What’s important though is that the FA are responsible for the national game rather than just the national team. Anyone who cares about football should care about that, including the greedy parasitic thundercunts who run the PL.

I'd prefer it at home this season :emoticon-0107-sweat

If they can get past our old nemesis Rochdale of course ;)

lol Rochdale shouldn't cause too many problems!

I've been very slack this year and not been.

I watched a lot of the dross in League 2 but now they're doing well I've not been.

Too much fishing to be done <ok>

Mate ... the Prem and everything that goes with it is light years from "the realistic world" ... I am not in favour of it myself I have to say - he has coined in enough - but many CFOs in industry do a lot better for just being there - Scudamore has undoubtedly done a good job in maximising revenue streams for the Prem etc -

What really gets my goat is when millionaire CFO's get a mega bonus for "turning the business around" or increasing profits when it is fairly obvious that this has come about largely as a result of "headcount cuts" to the workforce in that business ... now that really is immoral <grr>
Also true !!

Michaela Strachan from Tv's The really wild show has been lined up as replacement apparently.

£5m is huge and obscene when compared to the average wage, but it's an absolute pittance compared to what he's made the clubs, not even 0.1% of what they'll make from theTV deal he negotiated this year alone. I wouldn't begrudge someone who'd made me that sort of money a £250,000 farewell thankyou.

Which he has been paid very well for.

It just doesn't sit right with me when theres loads of fans who can't afford to go to games and grass roots so desperate of funds etc. that clubs are happy to chuck quarter a million to a greedy rich ****.

The better your job, and the better you do it, the better the golden handshake will be at the end, and he;s done a fantastic job for the premier league clubs, even the lowest can outspend every other football club around the world with the exception of a very small few.

He made them TV deals because he was in the hot seat to do so. That was his job...the one he was on a wage for.

Everyone wants a piece of the PL circus...or has he do done something extraordinary to get the deals?

What football really needs sadly is for a big club to go pop, no one gives a **** when it's Chester or Aldershot etc but would soon have to act if it was one of the bigger boys.

Not a really big club obviously just a ****ty one like Spurs or Chelsea :)

Leeds tried their best...
