No to Allardyce. Moyes I would begrudgingly accept. At least he had a long period of success with Everton.

Don't know about begrudgingly accept but he definitely ain't Sam level...

****ing hell imagine that being your best quality <laugh>

Surely if it goes the same way we won't wait until March again...

I have been a little vocal on here, simply because I never saw the situation changing with Hughes.

There are a fair number on here rightly saying the issues are deeper, and that Hughes has a limited hand with which to work with. My view is that he knew the team and he plays the players and trains them,

I simply don't believe this team is as poor as our current position suggest.

I tend to agree.

I was never a big fan of Hughes but I thought I could put up with him with longer than I could.

We've also been a lot worse than I expected.

I still think most of our players are ok and would be so much better in another side...we lack a couple of players to pull it together. And in the absence of such players you need an inspiring and inspired manager.

And I was one that thought we should give Hughes a chance...I believed he would stabilise us, but I'm now in the camp that thinks we can't wait too long. However, no point in swapping him for another so-so manager. There has to be a real change. Some of it can be put down to Hughes, but it is also a poisoned chalice. Although outplayed for a large part of the Burnley game, we finished strongly and should have grabbed a winner....same v Newcastle. How much happier we would be with even those 4 dropped points. And no doubt each of you could name another game we should have got extra points from. We need a lucky manager.

For the benefit of the next match thread poster. Hopefully the start of a long run of results!
