Trump has hijacked the election': House Republicans in panic mode Worries deepen that Trump's charged immigration rhetoric will cost the GOP more seats. https://www.politico.com/story/2018...tions-midterms-republicans-immigration-960748
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46095378 Turn out as many yanks seemingly postal vote is 34.3mil already up for 27.5mil in 2014. 130mil voted in 2016. So it'll be interesting to hear if the turnout for these is up.
Little history lesson on Iran and what the US is up to,, and when I say US, obviously I mean Britain too. Don't think I've ever heard the media mention MEK, who are a crazy terrorist cult the US want to install in Iran after regime change
Trump visits Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. Clearly seen as the key hold the line states. It will be interesting to see if he can repeat 2016 by getting enough out in these marginal? States
G'Mornin MITO Didn't look good even in Cali for the Dems, especially with the young voters. Bad sign there. It's hard to know what is going on atm, because you just can't trust the polls any longer. By the look of the rallies on both sides, all I have to go on, the Dems are getting slaughtered. They had their chance to take the whitehouse, with Sanders, and they cheated him out of it to run Clinton. Another thing, all the banks and corporations that float both sides, didn't want Sanders, for obvious reasons, they more or less TOLD the Dems to cheat Sanders out, they'd rather Trump or Clinton, anyone but Sanders and this includes Corps like Comcast, who own CNN. Cortez is a ****ing disaster for the Dems nationally, has been since she opened her mouth. The woman has gone on TV so much and made a complete ****** of herself With things like "The unemployment numbers are down only because people have two or three jobs"
I would presume california is so democrat he wouldn't waste time. American seems on the outside to be divided rad or blue with only a few swing zones and trump presses the buttons generally for the red states but really focuses on rallys in the swing zones. He has once again been far more active and visible than anyone form either parties. However the rallys are rent a crowd as well. They are card carrying party members but visiting the state and being on local tv and being talked about etc has a great impact. I was in a few different states and they are all very local in terms of media. I gave up on facebook in 2017 but followed certain yanks i know and what they were on about on one woman was so saunders she was worse than any republican on clinton. absolute hatred. It will be interesting to see if "old fashioned" pressing the flesh works for trump again. The turn out on early voting is up. That could be a sign either way i suppose. It says theres interest.
Who have the Democrats got to rival Trump’s profile and ubiquity? They’re still living with the ghosts of Obama and Clinton and not progressing in terms of visibility for their new leadership and making clear new policies. They don’t have a brand and their main people seem to lack the presence of those at the head of the Republican Party
they rolled out obama. The thing is the leader sof the house The current party leaders are: Majority (Republican) Leader Kevin McCarthy, Majority (Republican) Whip Steve Scalise, Minority (Democratic) Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Minority (Democratic) Whip Steny Hoyer. and the speaker Paul Ryan have all be totally ignored really. Its trump trump trump... turmp makes fun of ryan, turmp... Pelosi is an idiot.. Trump trump. I've barely heard form Mccarthy and the whips i've no idea who they are Trump has put himself about. There doesn't seem to be a democrat willing to do so. Given the democrats have twice the finance for this election (seemingly) yet they haven't got the mass rallys... well... who knows. YOu have to feel that theres a reason
Fox News, NBC and Facebook have pulled a Donald Trump campaign advert that has been widely condemned as racist. The 30 second anti-immigration advert, paid for by the Donald Trump for President campaign, was tweeted out by the president last week and aired during an NFL game on NBC on Sunday night and on Fox News. CNN previously had declined to run the advert, which it described as “racist”. The ad appears to be an attempt to tie the caravan of migrants and refugees seeking asylum in the US to Luis Bracamontes, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who shot and killed two sheriff’s deputies in 2014. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/presi...ned-as-racist/ar-BBPniZw?li=AAnZ9Ug&ocid=iehp
Saudis demanded good publicity over Yemen aid, leaked UN document shows https://www.theguardian.com/global-...aid-leaked-un-document-shows?CMP=share_btn_tw UN willing to cover up war crimes for cash Takes money from the Saudis, basically like a maniac giving the police a tiny plaster for the 8" long 4" wide gash he put in you with a machete, and in return the police ignore the fact he slashed you.
Left my wife at the voting station an hour ago because I thought the line looked too long. She still hasn't voted. This is the problem of living in a predominantly black neighbourhood in a republican state. They give us all the broken voting machines. So only one works and the line backs up literally for hours.
and would that have been "normal" As in say.... obama election trump election mid terms? Is there a massive surge of people voting?
My take is it is a way of discouraging people from voting Democrat and is not coincidental. Of course I have no proof of this.
yes thats a long term facotr that has happened for as long as i can remember over there but my question is more about turn out. Does this feel like a wave of extra voters over and above other times? I can't decide what that "wave" is for but IMO the exit polls and general comments will be telling quite quickly. IF we wake up in the morning with a big surge of voters saying they are out for one type of change or other we will know. For all we know a big trump turn out in key zones could completely flummox the pollsters and on the other hand this is the first time voters who maybe were not pushed in 2016 have their say on the last 2 years eg. is turn out higher than last house elections? (probably yes) Is turn out higher then 2016 general election? I don't know Is turn out the first obama election level? Who knows. then what does it mean?
It's usually about an hour we wait when I've voted in the past. Obama's first election I waited 2 hours to vote. Last time I lucked out and was in and out the door in 15 mins. Usually the wait to vote is about an hour. Friends who live in other districts that are more right wing leaning typically have very short to non existing lines. They also are given functioning machines. In my district they give us all the crappy broken ones Hoping if I return at about 3 it might be quiet again. That's when I went last time and had the quick 15 min wait.
That's my suspicion too. There is so much gerrymandering and other underhanded crap that goes on at elections here to try and prevent the common vote counting it's ridiculous. If you ever look at a voter district map it's amusing they twist and snake all over the place. Whichever party is in power tries to redraw the district maps to make sure they always stay in power. There is one house of representative seat in the state that is Solid Democrat. The other 6 are Republican. Republicans do outnumber Democrats here but not 6 to 1 (probably more like 2 to 1). The house district maps are crazy and twist and intertwine around the state to ensure Democrats never get a second seat. (Not blaming just Republicans here... I'm sure in Democrat majority states they do the same thing).
better that than predominantly black neighbourhoods in Democrat cities, you might get shot in the face for looking at someone the wrong way, or for your sneakers #DoGangBangersVote
