The 3 Sheff Wed players involved in the match-fixing scandal were David "Bronco" Layne, John Kay and Peter Swan.
They were convicted in '64 received gaol sentences, banned from football for life, though the offences took place in late '62.
Note: Must add, to keep the record straight, the Peter Swan involved was not the Peter Swan who played for City and commentates with Burnsey on Radio Humberside.
I wish it was 'our' Peter Swan :emoticon-0112-wonde

Thanks for the photo, I work with Brian Bulless’s son, I’ll pass it on to him.
Brian Bulless was the first player I saw who utilized the "long throw-in" to great effect. There may have been more players who did playing in other divisions, but in those days there was next to no TV coverage so to my mind B.B. had this unique tactical armament in his arsenal. He also had a very sweet left foot if I recall ?

I remember it, also Les Collinson who seemed to always have a red face.

Scarboro seem to be walking this league. Was this expected or just a nice surprise?

Isn't the banned Peter Swann a relation to the Peter Swan who played for City ? I thought it was his old man ?
