I agree - the tunnel jump was a thing of its time.
Must admit I don't hang around for the tunnel jumping these days. I never leave early, but when the full time whistle blows I am off straight away. I have done that ever since the beginning of season 2014-15.

I assume some of the players are still doing the tunnel jump when we win.
But it isn't Lee Bowyer's style at all, and I would not expect him to do it.

Lardi, what has got into you since the new Sheriff arrived? …. you are a changed man :( …. you loved the tunnel jump (like the rest of us) when Sir Chris did it didn't you?

The problem is that his managerial style is turning out to be more Mourinho than Klopp.... whereas he needs to be more Guardiola

I'm assuming this is a bit of a leg-pull.

Lee Bowyer doesn't have to style himself on anybody else. He is his own man.
Truth be told, from my perceptions of him down the years I can't say I even like the guy very much. But I do respect him a lot for what he is achieving now, and how he is going about it.

Yes I did. The tunnel jump was Powell's own thing and it came from his heart. I'll always remember those days with huge pride and gratitude to Chris Powell.

I just think it has had its day.
Perhaps it feels a bit cynical now, a bit contrived just to keep the whooping fans happy.

For me, Charlton Athletic and the atmosphere inside the Valley (even when we win) is still just a pale reflection of what it used to be like before Duchatelet bought the Club. It will never feel a fraction as good as it was back in 2012 or the years before that, until RD is gone.

The sheriff :emoticon-0171-star: and I do share common views on the two most important subjects of the day;
  1. Brexit
  2. Roland Duchatelet
Any disagreements are just background noise by comparison... <hug>

And we are both proper Charlton men Lardi <cheers>

We have a difference when it comes to footwear. I am a brogues man...I know you have a penchant for flip flops.

Weren't you spotted in a lovely pair of Cowboy boots yesterday?..... sort of Village People like?.... then you pulled @Clb74 on top of you because he was wearing his construction worker gear <whistle>

Had my usual weekend footwear on - brown brogues <cheers>
They didn’t help my grip when an 18 year old hooligan jumped on my back via three rows of seats after we equalised ...

Bowyer normally says it as it is, but for him to claim after today’s game that we are a “good side” <doh>

Good sides keep clean sheets against limited journeymen sides like Coventry, who come here & put ten men behind the ball and are happy with a point.

I don’t blame Bowyer though - that cvnt of an owner has left us short for a 5th season running.

Will the penny ever drop Jeddez & BB ?
