But you need some sort of talent. If out put an 11 from here into an LFC team we'd all work out bloody socks off, but we'd be torn apartby a team of players like Pogba, Di Maria, Ozil etc... because they have far more quality. You need a mixture obviously and not just within the person but also within the team. You can sometimes carry a player that doesn't work as hard if they have quality if you build your team around them. Different tactics require different skills etc.
Always said they needed talent but they need work rate too. Jimmy often argued against me because he was only interested in talent.
Just back from the game. Thought we completely dominated them all game. If they had got anything from that it would have been undeserved. Salah was a bit sh!t all night, but so many good performances
I didn’t watch the match! it was my mrs’s birthday. Gutted! With regards to your question, I think it’s discrediting how talented our team is. Yes, we work incredibly hard but we have serious quality in the team. We matched PSG quality wise but easily outfought them. Yes, we need players who work hard for the team. But not at the cost of footballing ability.
I’m gonna have to watch the highlights but I did see the last two goals. I was fuming at Salah because he gave away the ball easily moments before the one that led to the goal. But what a goal from Bobby! The skill, technique, finish. Match winner! We can’t be stopped ...
I am happy that we have won 6 games in row. This is has been achieved by not being so lethal as we know we can get. To see a bench with Firmino,Shaqiri,Keita and Fabinho just shows you how good a team we have become. Salah may not have been great but if you watched the game, he was forced to lead the pressing leading to more running than normal. It just goes to show the importance that Firmino serves to the team. It is no surprise that he was knackered at the end and I was not shocked at his tired passes. Anyway 6 games 6 wins and front 3 yet to fully click. Someone is getting a spanking soon.
this debate is like comparing neymar to ronaldo. neither are likable. One is a flash git who vanishes when his team is in trouble (see 2 worlds cups and several cl escapades now) One is obsessed with self aggrandisement but works like a dog to be the GOAT. If you were offered a ronaldo at 26 and neymar at 26 (today) there is simply no choice. you'd go for ronaldo every day. the conversation between a messi at 26 and a ronaldo at 26 is much harder and why its an eternal debate. Messi's work rate is interesting. (as in he barely moves but his imput to "the press" is interesting.)
For as good as Milner was, his corners suck. We really miss Chamberlain taking corners, I remember him whipping in great ones last season
