Listened to a RedmenTV show and they were gushing over Milner for a while (rightly so) and they were discussing how Milner is rated.

I think he's ****ing incredible, not only his workrate, but just everything he does. I can't remember a game he's played that's been less than a 7/10, but he's stepped up another level this season; he's man of the match most games now. Can you think of a better midfielder right now? Definitely in the PL. In Europe though?

It started mid last season after Coutinho left. What I have noticed, is we do not have a fixed holding midfielders nowadays. They all keep rotating depending on where the other 2 midfielders are. These tweaks have compensated for the lack of pure technique in Hendo and Milner and we can then utilize their great engines. It is the reason I believe Fabinho is yet to break through as he is more of a specialized DM with a fixed position.

What Milner has also improved in most, is his positional play as well as smart fouling in the oppositions half preventing quick breaks. He does this and avoids yellow cards too.

I'm glad people are finally giving wijnaldum the praise I gave him at the season start. In the no 6 role he has been absolutely outstanding.
