RIP Peter Benson, I quite enjoyed Heartbeat when it was on, always a bit tongue in cheek.
We loved watching Heartbeat on Saturday nights over here in Canada. Most characters on the show came and went but Bernie was one of the few constants. We'll miss your mournful face. RIP Bernie.
Was in Goathland yesterday after a couple of days in Whitby, great numbers of people sharing memories of Heartbeat!
Nothing compared to Oxford and Midsomer Murders area. Worse murder rates than Venezuela and Brazil.

Former Saint-Etienne defender William Gomis dies after reportedly being shot
Some reports in France have claimed the 19-year-old died after being shot with an AK47 while on the streets of La Seyne-sur-Mer. It is also said that a 14-year-old boy died at the scene, where police found 24 Kalashnikov cases.
Gomis' death comes weeks after one of his brothers also reportedly died as a result of gunshot wounds.
A seductive, husky voice and a wealth of anecdotes that made her appearances on the talk shows of the time must-see viewing. I loved the voice.

She certainly had one of those voices that were recognisable as soon as you heard it. RIP.
Most connoisseurs of the genre reckon that Carry On Screaming is one the top table CO films. She was the female lead and another non CO actor (Harry H Corbett) was the make lead. No Sid James, no Babs W and no Hattie J, yet cited as being right up there as one of the best.
