Amazing recent past for Cardiff City though, since promotion from the third tier, we’ve had maybe thirteen seasons in The Championship (some say the best league), now our second time in the biggest league...an FA Cup final appearance...a League Cup final appearance.... various playoff campaigns, and always towards the top end.

For somebody who’s been following City since the early sixties, the different experience has been fantastic. Incidentally, aside from Rotherham, the Championship has a great array of clubs I remember from the top league, particularly Ipswich who seem to be going nowhere....up or down!

Micheal Chopra and Jay Bothroyd was a great time, albeit “short time”, as the girls used to say in Thailand! Also used to say, “you most handsome man in Thailand”, and “you have massive plick!”
Another story, for another time pals! :emoticon-0103-cool:
Them girls meant massive pluck, Masky. You should have kept your hearing aid switched on!!!! You heard the 'short time' and not the bit where they added "that's not all that is short!" Don't forget that Our Dor is not one to keep quiet, as Aber will tell you.

Yes indeed but Bothroyd was miles better than Zahore. He had it all and would have been an international class player with a better work ethic and stayed on his feet more. That season with him & Chopra on fire - if only City had had a half decent defence we’d never have had to put up with that Wembley disaster

In fairness Nin, Bothroyd couldn't head a ball either but he more than made up for it on the ground. Scored some great goals, many from outside the box, cutting in on his left foot.

I would not have resigned Gunnur and left Kadeen Harris out.

Agreed about Gunnar now we've got Arter and Camarasa for the season. I'd have kept Pilks in the 25 and Kadeem would be the obvious casualty.

Hope both can justify their squad place as the season progresses, but neither have offered much hope so far. For me Kadeem is the one to improve and come good, whereas with Gunnar you know what you've got and that's about it.

Not really easy to say before the game.

You must be psychic - did you win the lottery last night?

Other than spending money on another CB in case of injuries, Connolly was the right player to keep before the 9th August deadline. He can cover at RB if push comes to shove as Peltier is no great shakes.

As far as Pilks goes, I honestly think he's had a shoddy deal from Warnock. On the other hand Kadeem was showing promise before his ankle injury pre-season last year and he deserved a chance. He's obviously ring rusty after all that time out of first team involvment- Zohore seems able to get away with his rustiness just because he had a fortnight off for his wife having a baby.

Gary Cahill looking for a move away from Chelsea in January. On huge wages, but at 33 years old and contract ending the end of the season. Could he do a job for us? Would he come to Cardiff?
