Kubica Expects Return?

The problem with the 2021 cost cap is that it will take 3 maybe 4 years for that to actually make any difference. I mean the 2021 regs will be published long before the cost caps actually come in so PU can be developed. So the teams with extra resources will spend BIG to negate some of the cost cap limits when they come in.
So a level playing field, if one can actually be created and policed will take 3 or 4 years to really start working.

So any cash the mid field teams can get will help them develop to the 2021 regs. It could be a massive help amongst the mid field for the first few years.

Not sure i'd like to try Curva Grande or Parabolica in the Williams atm with it's intermittant downforce problem. Going to be interesting to see how he compares to Sirotkin, if he gets a go

What have they got to lose?

Stroll is off, Sirotkin has hardly blown him into the weeds. Williams would get some decent publicity out of it and if he goes well, then maybe new sponsors would follow if they think he can do a full competitive season.

Almost seems a shame that Williams may have to think that way.

The real shame is that Williams seem to be content with that, never been a big fan of their's, but to see a former giant seemingly happy with a losers paycheck is a sad state of affairs

Curious as to what promises Kubica would need to take up a race seat. He wouldn't do a one-off race last season, due to issues surrounding returning an insurance pay-out. Is half a season enough to convince him it's worth his while? If he disappoints, he could be out of a seat and significantly out of pocket by the end of the year. Would he only do it if there was at least some possibility of a 2019 seat (such as performance targets to confirm it)?

Not sure who was more to lose here, Kubica or Williams?

Great story to see him back, but can he really be the same driver as before he had his accident? This has to be one of the longest absences by a former F1 driver (with the exception of Jan Lammers I believe.........), but Kubica had a decent reputation before he had his injury so there will be a huge amount of expectation on him, from fans and the press.

Sorry . Yes ocon . Bbc saying Merc would not release ocon for more than 1 year . Don't believe that's the reason myself .

Much as I like and rate Bottas , I think Ocon will be in that car before the end of next season .

The thing is . If he can be quick over a whole race / season , why did Renault not give him the chance ?

If he had any other manager than Wolff, I'd have said yes, but I think Bottas will finish his contract.

There was that recent 'Legend' who had a consistent result performance he managed to carry on when he joined Ferrari after 9/10 years out of the sport....:bandit:
