Sam shouldn't have been dropped in the first place, and after this test it's become even harder to justify leaving him out again.

Lots of comments in the papers concerning Cook´s future. For me he is a classy player who is temporarily in a run of bad form. Maybe he should be rested from England duties, play some county cricket to rediscover his form, have a winter with his family before being recalled next summer.
I’d be reluctant to drop him until another permanent opening batsman is found. Keaton Jennings can’t seem to cut it at Test level, maybe it’s time to bring Rory Burns in? That would also hamper Surrey’s chances in the CC!
