I have come to the conclusion over the last 4 games that Shteeeeve MAC-Lacking has more chance of growing a Kevin Keegan circa 70’s curly perm than he ever has of being a manager or coach capable of saving our club from utter humiliation,
In other words he is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike !!!

I never liked him and like him less now

Ahh, how we missed mini midget with the big Land Rover and the episode of the flat tyre.
Those special days when putting a ball straight into the back of a net was an impossibility for he who ran a mile and a mile and many miles, if l care to remember, all to no avail.

I can tell you, Washington has much to prove if he is to live up to SWP standards.

Now, where were we ... ah yes, "Does anybody know of a decent striker, that doesn't cost much, preferably zilch, that can tweeter sweet nothings to our board members and will work for Stveie?"

No abuse. But a counter-argument.

Ollie had significantly increased the amount of points we had at end of season compared to previous season. So... more points but same position as the season before... what does that mean? It means he kept us safe and got more points in a harder season than the one before because it took more points to achieve that position again.

Ollie's team came back from a losing position to draw or win on multiple occasions.

Ollie's team often came out better in the second half (good team talks? Adjustments to tactics?)

All this mainly achieved while Ollie tried to play the 5 at back thing. It took him a while but eventually went to 442 and we saw even more improvement (and maybe would have continued improving?)

Although there were plenty of dross or nothing games, there were significantly more exciting games under Ollie than we had seen under any manager since Warnock. We saw some actual backbone. Exciting games were so rare under anyone else in that time.

Just by being there, Ollie and Bircham raised the mood of the club and it felt good to support QPR again. The club felt a little more like our club again.

Those youngsters... look at them under Ollie. Look at them under McClaren.

Don't get me wrong... I got the right hump with Ollie at times. But the above speaks for itself.

Oh, and one last thing... How many times has McClaren won promotion in an English league? How many times has Ollie done it?

If we have another failed appointment then it really makes the person(s) making the decisions position untenable if that's the owner(s) we're shafted until they eventually have had enough & sell, if it's the DoF then don't see how SLF could stay on.

I'm ****ed if I know either, but surely you can't sack a manager after four games. Or can you? Palace lost their first five games under De Boer last year and sacked him. They wound up finishing 11th under Hodgson. There are similarities in that De Boer came in and wanted to change how Palace played without having the right personnel to do it. McClaren decided he was going to get Rangers playing out from the back, when the players we have are just not up to it, and he knew the situation with getting players in. He abandoned it last night, but player confidence is already shot, particularly Ingram, and I'm not sure he has the motivational abilities to turn that around. If we lose to Wigan, I don't think McClaren can survive, but who the **** do we get in? If you sack a manager you need to have a replacement lined up.

Holloway was definitely a Fernandes appointment, and I have a feeling he was instrumental in getting McClaren in too.
 
awjm., you are the voice of reason and make a whole load of sense. You are on the wrong board for that!
Put it another way, SM could not have done a worse job were he a CFC fan trying to relegate our club. Not all his fault, but your points speak volumes.
My concern now is how can we attract players (we have 9 days left) or a manager when we are bottom of the league, and don't pay decent wages anymore?
It would have to be an Ollie type who is only doing it '' for the shirt''. Ainsworth springs to mind.

You make some valid points mate, but Holloway seemed (to me anyway) to of lost the plot on numerous occasions.
Sometimes his selections were just bizarre, never the same team and even slagging off the fans at one point (I admit that really pissed me off).
Didn’t we lose 6 in a row TWICE under his watch (I might be wrong though)
I’m gutted about where our club is now but I ain’t got an answer....I hope Amit has.....meanwhile I’m off Saturday and was thinking of going....but dunno if my heart is in it anymore......we’ll see

Oh, I'm not at all claiming he was perfect but he's all we had. I thought at the time... no one would have come in when he did. He did us a favour. McClaren wouldn't have come in then. McClaren only came in because the ship looked stable at the end of last season (thanks to Ollie? Surely not!!! <doh>) Ollie needs to get control of that ship again. But why did we have to move backwards?

Sorry mate, gotta disagree....going back to Holloway really isn’t the answer and would be a massive step backwards.

it's quite simple. We have been badly run club for years and it has finally caught up with us. The players have been getting diluted for some time and not replaced. Washington is a poor mans Austin for example. TF knew or should have known that the team wasn't very good and lacked experience. What did he do ? Nothing, no replacements for the experienced lost over the summer. instead of addressing the situation TF via Hoos puts out another stadium article.

Seriously not good enough to lose the games like we have and SM needs to sort or he will be given his P45, but I won't boo or criticise young players like Ezy and co who are trying in a tough league..

I heard Scteev say tonight on Radio 5 that funds had been given and 2 players were incoming. Let's hope one is a striker

I think he lost 6 in a row on more than one occasion......we did beat Peterborough!!
