Just back and really shocked by what I saw. There are players who can play so much better but for some reason they seem to have lost all ability under McClaren.
Ingram needs to go and sort his head out. Any other position a player competes for their place. He’s needs to make way for Lumley then fight his way back into the team.

I think we can see already why McClaren is considered a decent coach, but a poor manager. He seems to have no motivational skills whatsoever. We started well tonight and I fully believe that if we had scored first we would have won. As it was, after being the better side for forty minutes, we gave away a disastrous goal - Bidwell left on his arse and Ingram appearing to let the shot underneath him - and heads dropped immediately. More bad defending five minutes into the second half and the game was as good as over. If McClaren had been in the job for longer, you might say that he had 'lost the dressing room', but it seems to me that they haven't believed in him from the start.
Stuck trying to get home. On a station platform and deeply unhappy. Best bit of the game, the fans chanting Greeno, Greeno.

I was consistent saying we need to earn stability with a coach that cares even if we just avoided relegation for a few years
We are certainly going somewhere without him maybe the same place as everyone thought Hollowsy would take us but didn’t
McClaren imo is unemployable

Respect to you on that one Paul, and yes you were someone who wanted Holloway to stay.....my point is that I couldn’t see us doing much better under Holloway and his time was ultimately up.
The mistake is, as you rightly point out, not putting someone in charge who has some desire and something to prove....like Ainsworth for example.

If this is putting his skill set to use then it’s crazy we had chances to work on our play for months. If anyone can see the football then tell me ? The gaps are massive all over the pitch no tracking

Can't see why anyone would want come in on loan to lose every week, be more enjoyable watching their own team from the stands. Our main hope is bringing in 2 or 3 players without clubs & in need of a wage.

When all 3 of our "strikers" were on the pitch we couldn't manage a single effort from them on target

Hoo ****ing ray. Holloway was running to stand still and the majority of us had lost patience. He was replaced with someone who had coached a Man Utd team to the treble, managed an unfashionable club to a European final, managed a team to win a major European league. Sadly it seems his talent has gone the same way as his hair....but he is an upgrade.
I have seen nothing of the game, but have read this entire thread while drinking. It is clear the team were headless, were they spineless as well? If yes we are back in the worst days of Redknapp, but cheaper.
We can get rid of Hair Island, and get the board to walk away (though someone will have to pay the wages, because gate money won’t) but we are stuck with these players.
It’s beyond me what’s going on, but a cleansing and cathartic spell in League One and wholesale change at every level might be required to lift the curse we are obviously labouring under.
I was feeling guilty about spurning a ticket to see us last Saturday and not sorting a trip down to Shepherds Bush yet this season. Now I’m simply grateful.
Turn this round quick or we’ll be adrift and playing in front of 8000 or less by December.

Pretty much this but I would of vouched for twenty five minutes. The failure to score in that time did for us. Washington is useless as is our defence. Like it or not we are about to do a Portsmouth, you can point the finger of blame of whoever you fancy, but the fact of the matter is that we as a club are down and out. We're ****ed. McClaren was sold a dud. It's not his fault, the problems are deeper seated. I think the solution should've been to retain Holloway as manager and bring in McClaren as a coach.
The current situation is catastrophic, we're getting relegated to League one as it it stands, but folk around me are happy that Washington runs around a lot and never gives up the chase, Jesus wept.
Would not surprise me in the slightest if the owners put the club up for sale now, rather later in the year when the reality comes closer.
As fans of the club, this would be a blessing and would solve short term plans providing a suitable owner with a squillion dollars was found ( providing they aren't more chicken farmers ).
First and foremost, the club needs to address the fans immediately about what they able to do, to arrest this free-fall.
If ever we needed a parachute of some kind, it is now ...... ( new owner like Aston Villa ) ........... but l'd settle for some decent loan signings.
