To be honest having served 12 years in the armed forces my perceptions of what I received in terms of incentives merely by showing my ID card opposed to that what is received now may have had some substance, obviously not. Rubbish, it's nothing to do with business costs, I could walk into a nightclub for free with my ID card this is no longer accepted a couple of free entries to a club is not breaking businesses bank accounts. The aftermath of Gulf 2 saw many businesses distance themselves from the armed forces although experiencing from your armchair will be far more worthy than my experience I'm sure.It’s the “not PC” bit that was bullshit.
Maybe after 8 years of having their bollocks squeezed businesses are not in a position to offer discounts to everyone.
