The thing that worries me most is when new owners come in it'll takes years of rebuilding.

I don't mean squad wise. I mean the spirit of the club. The arguments between supporters? Will people come back? Can we get the generation of kids back who have been priced out?

People can start by threatening to stop the kids pocket money if they don't go to City.

I think there would be a bounce back of people who are boycotting, as long as a new owner was very clear on names, concessions, etc
However it would take a while to get youngsters back and caring. Concessions would get it back on track for the future though.

I personally think the divisions will evaporate overnight, apart from a handful of irrelevant blowhards. Renewed common purpose.
 
I honestly can't imagine them leaving, ever.

Can see Ehab's grandchild presiding over a version of our club in the Northern League

I would like to think they would. But I fear it will be difficult attracting some of those back who have stopped going. The pre KC fans are more likely to return than those who arrived because of AP, a new stadium and then the PL.
 
I wonder if they did leave, whether new owners might be a tad more sympathetic when one of their fans die?

I wonder if his dad was Trevor Dunn.
 
The issue is a generation of children will miss out on the years of going as a child and won't have it in their blood. I went every week since I was 5 so it was standard to go to City on a Saturday. So many children won't have the love for it, they will be used to doing other stuff with their Saturdays. I think in years to come it will become obvious how much damage they have really done.

Also, though this is commom nowadays and not unique to City, under 14s have to be accompanied by an over 18. Myself and all the other ones who started going years ago went with our mates at much younger ages than that. The game that really hooked me because of the atmosphere and the crowd, Everton fans were a breed of people we hadn't encountered before, was when a bunch of us 13 year olds travelled from Brid for the Everton Cup tie. Had been before then but that was the game which hooked me. My grandson and his mates couldn't do similar nowadays.

City pretty much lost the majority of our local youth for the last 30 years at BP (72-02) apart from a few thousand fanatics. We won them back for the first 12 years at the KC, we are only just starting the lost generation cycle again to the point where you are starting to be surprised to see young kids wearing City shirts, the longer this goes on the bigger the tragedy is going to be.

I'm interested if there are any stats on age attendance.
I've never been in south stand so I don't know what the demographic is and was.
 
One of the things I really like about Adkins is the work I sense he is putting in to promote the club in the East Riding and to youngsters in particular which hopefully will do something to build the next generation when it no longer costs them a fortune to attend. I really sense he wants to be here for the long term and try to build something again. Just hope he doesn't leave in the short term in despair over lack of funds.
I think those who are keen and have supported the club for years will return quite quickly. Those who started to come when we got in the Premier League might have found something else to do with their Saturday afternoons.

It's my own observation of our crowd at both BP and the KC and what I see on our streets, I would also like to see stats on age to confirm the downward trend.
 
When Adam Pearson took over there seemed to be free tickets for kids being given out left right and centre, especially once we had moved to the new stadium.

Surely whoever came in would be savvy enough to do something similar to build that fan base once again. It’s not just the free ticket that benefits he club but the adult who would normally go with them would then be buying a ticket that may not have been sold if the free ticket hadn’t been given.

If they can get the same kids and parents going like that, they are filling the ground while also building the next generation of fans.
