I don't agree with all of that. Warnock.did not offer salaries or infact buy these players behind the owners backs, these were purchases sanctioned by the club and owners as with every transfer by every manager. I don't truly blame Hughes or Harry either, I didn't like Hughes, too big an ego and Harry never really seemed that interested. The buck stops with the owners.
Agree. I said at the time that NW face didn't fit the look TF wanted for the club. TF seemed to get big headed with the football club. Personally, I don't think we have been the same since we got rid of NW. Fab times seeing Charlie and obviously the play-off final but the club was run like a basket case and we are now paying for the mistakes.
Looking back over the last few years or decades, the Warnock era has personally been my favourite time as a fan. The joy at watching Taarabt do the unbelievable and players like hill giving everything. Now I've met Warnock and indirectly worked under him, I didn't personally take to him and some of his rumoured methods are questionable to say the least, but QPR were great days under his management.
Totally agree. The only manager to get the best out of Adel. Look what he has done to a lazy Hoilett at Cardiff? I have also read about players he brought in SWP and Ferdinand. But what about others he brought in before. Mackie, Derry, Clint, Kenny, Taarabt. Not to mention loans of Kyle Walker, Routledge, Smith, Miller. I think the players mentioned outweigh the SWP and Ferdy's.
I think Freeman is a weather vane of what's around the corner for us. If he goes, with no suitable replacement, then I think we can reasonably deduce that The Board are simply out to recoup as much loss as possible in the hope that we don't get relegated while playing the kids. I suppose the loan market might provide some hope. It will be a very long season if that is the case. How frustrating to be owned by very rich men and still in this mess?! We can harp back to when we sacked Warnock, appointed Hughes then Harry. Personally, after watching The Four Year Plan, I was more disappointed to learn that Amit / Mittal were due to buy the club but then frozen out in favour of TF. No guarantees of course but I believe we might well have been better off under their stewardship. All speculative of course. Missing first two home games (don't think that's ever happened to me before!) so will be cheering from a distance and hoping we can secure that all important first win.
Agree with just about all other than the Mittal's. If they were that interested they would have bought us.
If the club receives an offer of £4 Mill or more, under the current financial policy, I'm pretty sure they'll accept and sell. Isolated it will represent a huge financial gain on Freeman. In the bigger sporting picture it will represent a negative approach and lack of ambition imo. Please prove me wrong TF, LF, LH and Co.
When a newly-promoted basket-case have a modest offer for one of our few creative players accepted it, along with the 'giveaway' of Smithies, tells you we are heading for a guaranteed relegation battle. The only question is whether the team will have the balls for it or throw in the towel before Christmas...
If this is true, then I see some brainstorming going on at LR. 4 Mill GBP is already a good return on Freeman and the club will be very tempted to cash in. If we play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, then Eze and Freeman are both fighting for the “hole” or no .10 spot and Eze has the nod (and shirt! ) To play Freeman as a winger in a front three is not to his strengths. We can play Smythe. Also we have Manning as a backup for midfield. So there are options, but we lose and not gain on experience. Plus, what happens with injuries or cards? Also, we will miss him on set pieces. It will be a tough decision at LR.
With the news on Freeman, I’m trying my hardest to bite my tongue and stay positive. I hope there is a reward for the fans out there, somewhere.......
Don't want them to sell Freeman, but if he goes quote from club will be something like 'the player wanted to talk to them and was interested in joining them etc etc'
Going to dive for cover now .. I think we have adequate cover for Freeman in the team... Freeman is the spare pin in our midfield 3. He is being asked to play as a winger and it is not his natural position.... Yes he is the most creative player but also he makes a lot of wrong decisions. He had the most assists but a percentage of them is because he takes all corners and free kicks. Yes the team is really going to have to step up....but if moneyball is going to work for us....in keeping our debts down and going forward like Brentford have...I am afraid I can see it happening. But why Blackburn and not Boro???? Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
If Freeman goes we are definitely looking at relegation this season. That 4 million is the difference between staying up or going down and we’ll be looking at huge losses if we go down. If this is true it’s the tipping point for this club and I would be disgusted in how the management have managed to royally fck things up so badly.
This is where we find out if TF has learned, if he resists these bids and we keep said players then maybe he has, but in my opinion these attempts to pinch players on the cheap are from clubs just chancing there luck and assuming we are desperate to sell after reading about our fiscal issues and making 2+2 = 7.
