Hugill going to Boro was a no-brainer, promotion contenders or broke no-hopers? Not rocket-science is it? McLaren's managerial successes have been spending big bucks and even then his sides seem to start well but fade away and he ends up getting the sack. A great coach but iffy manager imo, he'll have to be a miracle-worker to keep us up this year, that's the sum total of our ambition, well done TF...
What is the difference between a coach and a manager? If McLaren doesn't have to bother himself with player recruitment, surely all he has to do is coach, which is what he's supposed to be good at.
Manager picks team and has to motivate/appease those players left out etc, a coach just comes in and coaches as he did when Redkrapp was manager...
In all fairness Tramore, Warnock wasn't that bad in the Prem we had about 17 points when he was sacked in January and we did have a couple of good results away at Wolves 3-0 and the 1-0 win at Everton and Hughes only got 18-19 points and we were very lucky that year. At the end of the day we will never know, however, we do about Hughes. To say what followed was due to NW is wide of the mark. Hughes proved to us exactly what he was about the season after. NW gets too much crap thrown against him. He took us up remember and came in a second time and changed our fortunes. He has now got Cardiff promoted and we are where? To knock him is a silly thing to do.
Did they spend money without Tony knowing? Flav and co didn't actually get us into a mess, so we will never know if they would have stuck around. They actually had good business sense. Get the right man to get them where the money is (premier league) then sell up for a lot more! You are right though, your mind probably does boggle!!
I stand to be corrected but weren't a lot of those NW purchases at the end or near the end of that transfer window. He had had his hands tied by the Italians and tried to get in some proven premiership players that would have aided our cause. However, as they say the rest in history. Maybe if NW hadn't had his hands tied and was given a transfer budget, maybe he would have purchased earlier rather than take the left pvers that no one else wanted.
You are right my mind does boggle, it boggles at the stupidity of folk, and just as my dad always says “ Never underestimate the stupidity of a complete f*****g moron” Then again your probably the sort of person that bites the hand that feeds you because you don’t like what’s on the other end of the arm the hand is attached to......... So before we get into a slanging match just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
Only if we are silly enough to sell him. The issue l have is that if we sell him, we must replace him with someone as good or better................. so why sell him in the first place?
Got behind them at Preston Turkish and I will at the majority of away games this season and a few home games. These are my opinions which I'm entitled to and obviously not alone in. WE ARE IN A MESS no two ways about it. Has TF learned from his mistakes? We are yet to find out! Like I said before, I think your dad was trying to tell you something!
Would be very silly to do so at this stage with the the window shutting. Would make no sense whatsoever
Agree not this late in the day. However be worried if you see another stadium tweet or training ground.
No ellers read it again....the downward spiral was started by Warnock......he panic brought expensive players on long expensive contracts that the club couldn't afford.....Hughes compounded it by his excessive buying.... Not dismissing Warnock for his championship winning side that was wonderful but he lost a lot of goodwill for what happened the following season.....and yes the main culprit is fernandes but Warnock shouldn't escape culpability nor should Hughes or redknapp or beard....
