Lost in translation (great film by the way) so I'm a bit smashed. When you go out to eat abroad they bring you a terrible shot of something horrible at the end, we all grin a thank you and neck some elixir from hell.
Tonight though they bring a little cool pot of honeyed rum. No ****er likes it but me so I drink all 4 @brb
I ask to keep the little clay pot the waiter nods and promptly brings me another rum.
About a double in each pot.

luv is...

Smashed.

Aye that's a bit warm

Went to Death Valley in 2012 and it hit 45 deg. Strange kind of heat really, hot and dry like standing under a hot air hand drier. Not completely unpleasant, but you wouldn't want to be out in it for more than 10 mins or so.

Worst kind of heat I've experienced was in Guatamala, jungle humidity with thousands of little ****ing insects all wanting to drink your sweat and blood. Pretty sure you would have experienced something similar in Thailand ?

In Italy you get Limoncello...it's fooking disgusting, so always ask for the Grappa.

In Greece it's Ouzo, never again!

Sounds the same as North Thailand in hotter season

I did an all inclusive to Gran Canaria last Oct, it was paid for by my mother-in-law and it was a family holiday for the kids etc. They had a great time frolicking around by the pool etc. But **** me, more than a week of that **** would get dull. The first couple of days of free beer and food whenever you want is a novelty, but after that it's just encouragement to over indulge and make a ****ing pig of yourself.

My travels in the past have been way more off the beaten track. Plane ticket to Caracas and then try and find a hotel in the cheapest part of town, before speaking to some locals who'll take you into the Jungle to find some psychedelics. Since I've had kids, I don't take the same risks, but I've taken the little one up into the back country in Yosemite and out into Bear and Wolf country in Canada earlier this year.

The idea of sitting around a pool reading a book bores me to tears.

Staying by the pool . What a waste .

Bloke I used to work with , him and the wife went to the same place year after year , spent all day on the same part of the same beach .

Still each to their own .

Sad bastard .

Went all inclusive to Hard Rock Riviera Maya, luckily we booked 'Heaven' which was adults only as the kids-allowed section looked like, well we called it 'Hell'. Our bit was sound apart from getting spied on by packs of monkeys everywhere we walked. Even though we were assured they've never attacked anybody, I have a habit of being the first for these things.

No chance of reading a book by the pool there mind.

Going on one next year. My folks have just been on royal Caribbean. My mate is hotel director. He spoilt them rotten. They’ve been cruising for 15 years mom twice a year. Said it was the best they’ve ever been on.
Me and the Mrs decided cruising was not for us, Booked a 7day one round Med with Royal Caribbean as wife wanted to try and then she admitted to me she was bored after first night!
She resorted to her usual method of cheering herself by spending large amounts of money onboard and on the various shore trips so we ended up spending more than we did on a trip for three of us to The Andes the year before.
Was the first all inclusive holiday we had ever been on. Neither of us could face eating the standard ship food by end of the trip. Fortunately we hadnt booked the alcohol packages but it was clear that for some of the other Brits that was their main reason for being there.

I just don’t like people. I don’t like sharing a pool with other people.

I’m fairly certain I won’t like cruising. The difference for me is it will cost next to nothing as long as I go on my mates ship. Plus I’d get upgraded to all the VIP stuff on board.

Other thing I’m not sure I will like is how formal things are.

You should be okay as long as you stay in your cabin!
