Although I am against the gesture politics of flying those flags, I quite agree with your thoughts on the mentality of people who write stuff like that. Similar feelings about those who throw homosexuals off tall buildings or say they should all be thrown off cliffs.

Really? Asking people to back up their rather spurious, unprovable claims?

Right, there you are then. Monotheistic religion as a whole despises homosexuality, it's one of the reasons it took off in the first place as homosexuality was rife among the Roman and Greek empires. You only have to go to America to see how much the gay community is vilified.

Pretty much anywhere, it's rife in southern states at the moment. San Francisco, which has a famously tolerant gay community, is coming under increasing flack for it's laid back approach to homosexuality. They're big on a certain monotheistic religion over there that really doesn't like it. It's not as bad as Russia, mind, but it's bad. It's more subtle.

For not believing any old post about supposed marriages to the most tolerant bloke you could imagine and asking what them and their families views are on things?

Say what you want for me. You look the soft headed bigot, no one else.

You & (Report Button) Shaz were all over what couldn’t be said yesterday.

“Backs to the wall boys, there’s one in”

    “I blame the Muslims”

“I blame anyone who isn’t white”

    “That’s daft you mong”

“You can’t say mong, that’s taking it too far, you insensitive bastard”

The only religion as anti gay as Islam is the almost, but not quite, as intolerant one of Catholicism, which is similarly dismissive of women's equal rights.
Seeing as America has larger, longer established gay rights parades and events your last statement is a bit difficult to believe.

Any links to those statements? Other than criticising the sort of insensitive buffoons who use the abbreviation of *****l to describe people with different opinions to them.

Which monotheistic is that? Islam? Does it have as high a percentage of adherebts as in Muslim countries.
Not to mention some of the most anti gay countries have been countries where religion was banned.

It's not that difficult when you consider that for as long as there have been gay people, there have been people trying to stop it from spreading.

Here's a few recent cases that I read.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jan/15/university-of-iowa-christian-

    https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/intelligence-report/2013/last-word-0

Hardy Billington, a conservative senator running for office in Missouri and who has strong Anti LGBT views, once famously claimed that "homosexuality kills more people than tobacco".

It's rife over there. There are currently 27 groups designated as "hate groups" in the USA that specifically target those with LGBT, that's a lot of hate. They're all Christian groups too.

It isn't enshrined in law like some countries though. That's a whole lot more of hate.

As whacky as Muslims in their own way. Or any religious fanatics for that matter. Hindus and Sikhs aren't as tolerant of others asmsome imagine. Or Buddhists. There again neither were atheist states like the USSR or China shining beacons of tolerance either.

No, but whether or not it's the law doesn't make it okay. We live in the Western world, so you'd expect most countries to be accepting of modern LGBT rights and viewpoints. The fact that some don't is what is so shocking. We've moved past intolerance, well most of us anyway, episodes like this simply show how backwards some people are.

I don't care what deity somebody kneels to, that kind of behaviour towards a fellow human being or a group of human beings is frankly disgusting and isn't acceptable and trying to justify that hatred with religion just highlights the problems that stem from clinging to values that are born of a completely different time period.
