If it wasn't all of them it was arbitary. It was supporting an event only of relevance to Hull. The clue being in Hull Pride.
Were police forces 30 miles away from London told, sorry, selected, to fly flags to coincide with London Pride?

Here here. Our elders spent a good few years fighting (and dying) against people who supported the ideology of attacking those that had different lifestyles. And now what do we have? People chanting "I'd rather be a Nazi than a Muslim" and openly doing the Zeig Heil gesture on our streets. Effectively, we lost the war, if people like that are marching around; children could be exposed to that. It said somewhere "how would you explain that [the rainbow flag] to children?" What? Being gay? By ****ing explaining it, they're children. That's how they learn. There isn't a huge gay agenda to turn everybody gay. My wife is bi-sexual (it has its perks), it doesn't mean ****, it certainly doesn't change who she is or how good a person she is.

And don't give me that freedom of speech horseshit, either. It's one thing to be able to say what you want, it's another to abuse that right. Freedom of speech shouldn't protect acts of bigotry and hatred, it should be a positive thing. This whole "safe space cotton wool generation" is bollocks as well. You'll find that younger millenials are pissed off because the generation that secured rights for people of colour, other religions and LGBT rights is now gradually turning back on what they did and saying it's got to go. Well, **** you very much.

Society adapts and changes. If you don't keep up with it, you fall out the loop. And if you do, tough ****. It's your responsibility to get over your bigotry and little problems and join the rest of civilisation in moving forward. It's the United Kingdom. Clue's in the ****ing name.

Presumably this kind, tolerant man, and his family will have been happy for her not to take up the Muslim faith and his children not to be necessarily brought up as Muslims? Do him and his family show their tolerance by attending Gay Pride events?

The most persecuted religion world wide is Christianity.
Never heard of honour killings in this country because someone married someone from a different culture. Haven't heard of any Hull girls being called prostitutes, told they deserve to die then getting their heads stomped on by a gangmof blokes for going out with a Polish lads either.

It's not Godwin's law, it happened a few weeks ago. I wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise.

She is a Christian, their children have not decided which faith they wish to follow as they are too young and can do so as they wish when they are older. They celebrate Christmas and always get me cards signed by him. They celebrate all Muslim holidays too which I have opted to join in with. They have not gone to gay pride events as unfortunately having three children under 12 doesn't allow it. But a member of our family is openly Gay and I've seen them hug if that helps dispel your disgusting ill informed, racist remarks?

I will refrain from saying anymore as I just find everything you say wrong.

When I did my PGCE, there were two Muslim girls on the course. Both were at Hull Pride, supporting the cause. This isn't about religion, it's about LGBT rights. There's nothing political or religious about it.

The thing is this thread isn't about that anymore to me it's about how people are so blinkered and blind to the truth. So blind to accepting people with different views, opinions, religions, beliefs etc...

    It's plain wrong. End of.

Your post sums it up well, this isnt freedom of speech, this is just people just talking absolute bull **** about things they are so ill informed about.

Russia lost the war as well then. Neo nazis abound, racism is rife and homophobia rampant there.
Who decides where free speech starts and stops anyway?
A bit like those who say if Christianity is strong itbshould be able to take criticism and mockery but side with other religions who get some what uptight about the slightest criticism and mockery of their religion and say we must respect their feelings. Or say we must let people do as they wish in this country but we should respect their cultures and adapt theirmways when in their countries.

They vandalised a flag because they think that homosexuality is "abnormal, perverted, anti-social, unnatural and dangerous." He goes on to say "That is the view of normal people and within living memory, the practice of homosexuality was illegal in this country - for good reason"

That, right there, is so wrong it's gone all the way around and is nearly ****ing right and shows just how ill-informed and small minded some people are.

So those Muslim girls will be campaigning in Muslim countries to show support of the cause?

I couldn't really give a **** about what Russia thinks, or what France thinks, or any other country, I'm not French or Russian. What we stand for as a nation is tolerance, equality and freedom for all. It's what we've always fought for (apart from expanding our empire, of course) and will hopefully continue to fight for. The second that turns, people should be asking questions.

You really need to stop bringing up religion, it isn't pertinent to the thread (unless you're deliberately trying to get it closed). LGBT goes beyond religion and politics, that's kind of the point of it.

Well, here's one for you then. Do you agree with the person who wrote the letter? All of it? Bits of it? Please, share. You know that many are appalled by it, how do you feel about it?
