Looks like being an excellent test for the defence and TK tonight, as the Hatters have been scoring for fun - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/luton-v-norwich-preview-1-5620801
With Lewis nearly ready as well that's good news all around! The starting line up against Brum is beginning to take shape, though DF has plenty of options.
I only know our players through this site so am only able to make judgements on our prospects, and our players abilities, from what is posted on here. But I have to admit to a cautious optimism for the upcoming season. I believe that all round we are stronger than last season, but does this make up for the loss of JM? It probably does, as last season the opposition basically said "stop Maddison and you stop Norwich" . This is no longer true as we appear to have a variety of offensive outlets, which means opposition defences have to be more wary on more fronts, which should leave more space for our offense to be effective. I'm also hoping that will make us a better team, working hard for each other to achieve better results. Much will depend on how players who have lost their way in recent years (eg. Krul, Rhodes, Leitner, Trybull and Thompson) can get back to their best form and push on from there. The potential is impressive, but it needs to be realised in results to build and maintain confidence and then perhaps we can get back into the race for promotion. A good start is crucial for that.
please log in to view this image I LIKE the starting 11!!!! Subs - McGovern (GK), Husband, Zimmermann, Leitner, Stiepermann, Trybull, Passlack, Hernandez, Srbeny, McGovern Edit - I'd be happy if the same starting 11 was used at St Andrews!!!!
Looks like a 4-3-3 or a 4-1-4-1 wit two teams again with changes at the half our around 60 minutes. Quick call for Krul.
4-1-4-1, or 4-1-3-2? Really interesting lineup, can definitely see what Farke wants to get out of tonight. Krul - hopefully our new number 1 doesn't look too ring-rusty! Marshall - based on the notes from Wolfsburg, he's much more comfortable at RB than Passlack. Nailing this role down Godfrey - at CB, is this where Farke sees him? With Raggett heading out on loan, we could do with CB cover Thompson - surely his audition for Birmingham? Hope he can perform Looking forward to seeing Cantwell and Buendia too!
REALLY pleased to see that they are part of the first team squad. So looks like McLean will be this season's number 23!!!
He looks so much like Madders. Obviously not as good, but the best parts of Madders game, looks like the best part of Kenny's game. I am really hopeful about Kenny this season, he has shown real promise. I think they have found another gem.
The players they have bough in, I like, I think they have been very smart. Unlike last season, they have mixed unknown players with players who have experience in this league or country. I feel much better about that. If we use this squad with Farkes tactics last season, I'd still be very worried. It looks like he wanted to play something like a 4-1-4-1. I don't like that at all, that wont work in the Championship. I hope he has a Plan B.
