Rose to PSG !!?? Who is on their list of potential cast-offs that they could use as swap/partial payment ??
Obvious choice: Adrien Rabiot, who we've been linked with for the past five transfer windows and would bolster central midfield Lazy choice: Layvin Kurzawa, their injury-plagued left back who might be a damn good player if his legs didn't fall off twice a season Ballsy choice: Kylian Mbappe, because if they're so determined to keep Neymar they'll need to recoup cash from somewhere else...
AFAIK they now have to buy him from Monaco, If so, how are they going to avoid the FFP fines (unless UEFA of course are going to bend over backwards for a non_PL Sugga Daddy FC) ...
They already signed him, as his loan had an option that his loan would be permanent when he played x-many games last season. One thing that does stand out is the initial deal was quoted as €145m + €35m in add-ons, but when he completed the moved the figure given was €135m - so either the earlier figure was incorrect, or they somehow renegotiated terms with Monaco so there's more add-ons. As for dodging FFP fines, they've already made over €60m in transfer fees this summer, the vast majority of it for their sales of Javier Pastore and Spurs reject Yuri Berchiche, so now all they have to wait for is Los Ladrones to make a bid for one of their players they said they weren't interested in signing while their mates in the Spanish press started publishing poison pen stories about how Neymar and Mbappe hate each other.
My response to them : You could. Just going to get some snacks. Have your "arguments" prepared ready for my return ...
Judging by those agreeing with them in the comments, my response would be "And who was the top-scoring Chelsea player of the tournament?"
You mean : Which PL clubs with players on WC duty, COLLECTIVELY scored LESS IN TOTAL than Kane did by himself ??
Alternatively he could be the most deseving because of the inability of some of those around him to provide more chances to score.
One could argue that England had their worst World Cup finals ever. They have NEVER lost 3! games at the finals tournament.
Being slated by the Fail is pretty much a badge of honour surely? The twat who wrote the article attacked Kermode for watching too many films..... Yes, that's right, it's always a good idea for a film critic to steer clear of the silver screen! This written assault - which seems to contradict every other review - couldn't possibly be motivated by Kermode's Anti-Trump and Anti-Brexit stance, could it? Shurely schom mishtake????
I like Kermode a lot because his reviews make a lot of sense, and my favourite film Local Hero is also one of his favourites. As you say, being slated by the Daily Fail is in fact a badge of honour. I also liked his new Secrets of Cinema programme and look forward to the rest of the series.
In 1992 I was in Seattle. Mrs B and I turned up at the local food festival 'The Bite' on a beautiful sunny day. There was live music, including 'The Railtown Bottlers' - lead singer, one Mark Kermode. As a bit of a rockabilly fan, I shouted out the odd song suggestion, he picked up on the accent and we struck up a bit of a rapport and it turned out that he and Mrs B knew some of the same people from Manchester University. Nice bloke. A good day.
