Why are we trying to stop/repress goal celebrations?
It's bad enough when Refs dish out yellow cards to players taking their shirts off ffs.
Football is full on pressure for these players whatever level they are playing at I don't see owt wrong in players enjoying the moment.
Hope we have plenty of goals to celebrate next season.

They had just scored the winner in the World Cup Semi Final, let them have a minute?

A minute is fine. Didn't Columbia have 4 minutes though?

Agree totally. It’s bad enough that you can get booked for celebrating with the fans or taking your shirt off (bit of passion) and the sad reality of the “shirt off” is that it’s apparently due to sponsors wanting to ensure that the cameras display their names (was put in as a deterrent according to my refereeing mate)

If Enfpgland had scored in extra time we’d have celebrated to the full extent make no mistake

Wasn't the Colombian four minutes spent in protesting against the penalty award, which should have been punished ? Goal celebrations are fine and perfectly understandable, but cheating is a far worse offence surely.

The official line though is that it is offensive in some cultures.
Personally, I think it is an odd thing to do anyway. The shirt is the thing that most fans hold dear as the symbol of the team (look at the fuss we've had about a solid red back) and we often want players to "play for the shirt". So why don't we find it offensive when some bloke rips off what is essentially OUR symbol and flings it on the muddy ground?

I am talking generally , not just this game, and I’m not saying no celebration , especially in such circumstances, players deserve that. I’m just saying not too long. People don’t like delays for injuries , slow substitutions etc so these can be irritating the same

It went on forever to be fair. They were hugging and kissing a cameraman FFS. I was fuming as you know the referee will not add all the time on at the end.

I can’t comprehend it mate. More you see it the less it’s a penalty.

I win £550 if France win and I find myself sat here desperate to see Croatia win. The heart in that team is incredible.

What a player Perisic is by the way, gotta be a man of the tournament contender.

Awarding France a free kick for Griezmann's dive was even worse.

I didn’t really notice that at the time but seeing it back at half time, wow.

    Hopefully it evens out.

Yes bit of a shocker all round their second goal. If I had to guess I'd say he did mean to handle it but no way could you be sure enough to give it.

Couldn't agree more mate. Shocking decision and was never a pen. This Croatian team have the hearts of lions and will not give up.

Also agree about Perisic. Fantastic player, along with several others in the team.

You know we nearly signed Vida after the Euros and he’s a cracking player. We always **** it up.

    What an extraordinary sub.

The best holding midfielder on the planet for N’Zonzi?

French TV commentary has a different opinion surprisingly enough.

Personally I'm not convinced either way. Players hand was moving down towards the ball, but I don't think it's deliberate.
