I've loved the euphoria and atmosphere around this England side but the realisation has set in and quite frankly, we really have fluked our way to this stage of the tournament. Croatia and Belgium (twice) have painfully outplayed us. Trippier, Maguire and Pickford can leave with their heads held very high, one or two others can be satisfied, the rest have either been passengers or toilet.

It's really no surprise that Belgium are cruising in this one if you look at the tweets of the respective players after the semis. Belgium's players all spoke of mustering one final push to at least finish third, while England's players were all moping - and they've certainly played like their heads are down in this one (or in the sand, in the case of a certain passenger at club and international level whose name sounds like Baheem Curling...)
