Can't find what Matt was supposed to have said (I don't think he has it in him to make a crass comment about such a sensitive issue), some of the abuse he is getting from some Scousers is way over the top and he is just batting them off in his own inimitable phlegmatic manner.
 
Reading between the lines he has been sharing banter with Scousers for the past couple of years about the VVD situation and other transfers between our clubs and they are branding him "bitter".

He called people out about not supporting England - a bunch of scousers said “why would we after the stereotypes etc of the past 30 years” to which he replied “because you’re meant to have a sense of humour”.

Because Hillsborough was 31 years ago, they’ve all decided that he was referring to that, instead of the lighter hearted scouse stereotypes (which anyone with a brain would realise he wasn’t).

It was a terrible tragic event, but some Scousers see offence about it in the most innocent of comments.

Interesting review of Targett's time at Fulham. Praises him for his steadying influence...includes the phrase that he made Fulham whole....and says he had a major effect on their successful push for promotion. And they point out that he is only 22....a fact that Saints fans seem to overlook as he has been here forever. They'd like to sign him understandably.....but I'd like to give him another shot in the Saints squad now he has had such a successful loan period.
