The wrestling at corners is a disgrace.

Brilliant first half. There were a few murmurings of “Belgium hammered Tunisia” after their game yesterday but hopefully this is putting that firmly to bed

Bit generous counting a saved header (should have scored it) as an assist but maybe it's counted as one I dunno.

Panama are embarrassing themselves. Not just as a team but just as grown men. Hope we score 10.

Savaloy scores. Are we making sure we finish 2nd?

Woeful second half mind. Switched off. Giving the ball away. No attacking intent. Really complacent.

Not a sign of a particularly mentally strong team.

6 goals scored. Still same GD as Belgium. Why knacker ourselves ?

It's against Belgium that we need to put in our strongest display

Finishing 2nd would be better anyway, its an "easier" route

Pretty good overall. Would have been nice to win by a couple more but that second half was always going to be harder.

Belgium will be a good test. Kane for the golden boot.

We have as much a chance as anybody else in this tournament. Southgate deserves a special mention, he's got our lot playing his way and it's very impressive. He's gelling them very well.

Still sloppy passes, a bit of dodgy defending.
Against better teams we'd have been punished

His substitutions are woeful and he was the same at U21 levels, we only drew the second half by the way and were lucky to do so, too many people especially the pundits are not watching the game at all judging by some of the coments, not just Panama making fools of themselves. Still a long way to go before we can say with any confidence that we will win a knockout game against any of the eventual qualifiers imo. I agree about finishing second though as it looks an easier path, maybe Belgium have worked this out as well.

    Seriously lads?

We've just had out best ever victory in major competition football, I can't even begin to see any negatives. It was job done in only one half which makes it even more impressive. We were always going to take our foot off the pedal and conserve energy.

    We have just won 6-1.

We're a young side, nobody expects us to win anything. The way we are playing bodes well for future tournaments.

If we get to semis or even quarters it will be more than I expected

I wouldn't say I expect us to win but from what I've seen of the 'top' sides we look as good as anyone else.

I think thats a tad harsh mate.

Its a young team, and many in the press said before the WC started that getting to the quarters would be a result for this young team. We're on course and after a good result.

Its a lovely day outside mate.

    Just enjoy the moment.

I'm seriously impressed by Southgate at this stage. Admittedly his subs were odd today but I think that was about leaving sterling on to try spark his form, play rose into form and keep vardy match fit.

Its way too early to get carried away but I thought it was a disgraceful appointment at the time and well into qualifiers. I take that back.

He looks every inch the England coach. Our side are well drilled. Set pieces look great which is a huge thumbs up for coaching staff. I'm impressed to this point.

Concentration does look a concern. Misplaced passes and being caught unaware but getting that out of the way early and against ****e opposition may help us further in the tournament.

Couple with the other favourites not impressing... exciting time to be an English fan.

So far I’m very impressed with England. You can only beat what’s in front of you. Better finishing in the first game would see us miles ahead on goals. We took our chances today and conserved energy second half which hopefully means better fitness for the end of the group stages. First time in 20 years I’ve actually cheered England scoring.

Anyone finding negatives has seriously got to be one of those boo boys we’ve had at SAFC fir years. How do you find negatives in a 6-1 win?
