I'm not, it was awful refereeing and var is a ****ing farce. Did they avtually just review the Aus penalty?
Significant that Griezmann didn’t even appeal for a pen, he knew it was a good tackle. VAR might be a good idea in principle but it still relies on human beings.
Everything gets silent reviewed, as far as I'm aware. Just to be sure. At best, I think that was a case of the VAR just telling the referee "yes, correct", without any delay in the play.
VAR is great and is the future, but that is the main downfall. The ball had gone, was a decent tackle and he clipped the guy. Looks fine in real time but when you slow it down and show over and over the contact looks bad. Need refs to maybe play the game at any sort of level to understand **** like that happens and isn’t a foul
Which is what I’ve said all along, it should be used silently and very quickly. No very obvious error... continue the game.
Which is what I said to Tom. How do you tackle and then stop completey dead? Non contact sport on its way.
Agreed. It also seemed thar he might have been swayed by the French players to review in first place?
Fair play to the aussies though they have busted their bollocks off all game. Our lot should be watching and taking note!
That was cynical. There's certainly an argument to be had for those fouls to be punishable with a red card.
