Well I just skipped to the last post to see if I could pick up on what the thread had been about.

No joy there, so I read a few more .... and then a few more.

After getting to the top of the page I'd gathered info about dog collars, readers wives, strippers and oral hygiene and am still non the wiser!

All very random <laugh>

Wolfsburg striker Patrick Helmes is on the Sunderland radar. The Sunday Mirror says Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has turned to 13-cap *German striker Helmes after Liverpool emerged as favourites to take Craig Bellamy back from Manchester City.Helmes, 27, only moved from Bayer Leverkusen to Wolfsburg in January for £7million, scoring three goals in 11 games.

Steve Bruce has admitted that Sunderland 'need a bit extra up front' and he hasn't adequately replaced Darren Bent who left in January.

The Black Cats boss has been a frustrated figure so far this season after watching his side struggle to score goals with last week's 1-0 home defeat to derby rivals Newcastle followed by a goalless draw at Swansea on Saturday.
It means Bruce's men have managed just one goal in three matches and he is now looking to try and bring in a new hitman before Wednesday's deadline to ease the pressure on Asamoah Gyan.
Ji Dong-won and Connor Wickham were drafted in earlier in the summer, but Bruce claims they are ones for the future and an experienced campaigner will be on his radar.
"We've brought in Ji and Wickham as players for the future - we were delighted to have the opportunity to get players of their potential in - but we won't see the best of them for a year to 18 months," Bruce told the Sunderland Echo.
"In the meantime, we need a bit extra up front.
"If we're honest, we've been lacking a bit in that department since Darren Bent left in January and we know that.
"So we'll be doing all we can to bring someone in in the next few days - we just have to wait and see what happens and whether anything can be done."
