I think Shaqiri would be a decent signing for you lot providing he's happy to be a squad option. I mean he's much better than what you had on the bench towards the end of the season.
I'd quite like to see Wilson used as a sub for Salah next season, like for like kind of thing going on instead of changing the formation. “I’d like to make myself that backup player for [Mane and Salah], or that replacement if they have a knock or whatever,” he explained. “It sounds like a big aim, but why not? I want to play for Liverpool in the Premier League on a regular basis, I will never deny that.” Wilson added that “the manager told me he likes me as a player,” with Klopp’s conviction clearly key to his development. As Bascombe reveals that Shaqiri “is of interest but not a priority at the moment,” it could well be that Wilson takes that spot instead of the Swiss maverick.
He's ****ing **** mate - scores the odd worldie but everything else he does is ****e. I wouldn't take him on a free.
quite like shaqiri myself as an impact sub. The only thing will be if he sulks at being a reserve player as he won't be making no impact as a sub.
Well i dunno what his record is like as an impact sub, but he's got the ability to be a game changer. Can shoot, dribble, cross, take set pieces. Whether he can be bothered when he's sulking is a different matter. Not seen him play enough to decide whether he's lazy or not (only from what people say). Maybe he's the ideal player to score some worldies when a team does a mourinho
Then he shouldn't be at a ****ing top club. Clemence, Bruce and Reina all made cock-ups, but rarely, and they got over them. Karius hasn't been steady for two seasons, and what caught up with him in Kiev is what he got away with against Roma at Anfield. You're right - it was a gamble worth taking when we bought him: but you're wrong about helping him to re-build his confidence. If he had any confidence worth building upon he wouldn't be in the place he is now. So no bad feelings towards him, but keeping him in there just to re-build his confidence would be a vanity project on Klopp's part. Shankly and Paisley knew when to cut their losses over certain players: he just has wield the axe.
Shaqiri is hardly a gamble at that price, and he does have quality that can turn matches. He was in a ****e team last season and still nearly kept them up.
Totally agree. He's not the worldie he thinks he is, but he has undoubted quality and can turn matches with a little bit of stardust. I'd prefer him to Lallana, who after nearly a season out is - understandably- not the player he was 18 months ago. It's a no-brainer in my book.
Klopp you would imagine would improve his fitness no end too. When I went to Stoke away last season and he took a corner in front of us I realised what a fat little **** he is. Doesnt seem as bad on telly.
Put him in a better team and he may improve, I'm not certain on him but wonder if he gives us an option. Can't see him coming to sit in or bench though and like I said Wilson is worth a shot.
. Tbh i'm surprised you boys arent in for him. Still relatively young, he's cheap as chips in comparisson to what the market is nowadays and you need someone to do something special up top. Only thing is his injury record.
Yeah apparently we were but no chance once Liverpool interested... just cutting out the middleman aren't they lol?
He would be a mug to go to liverpool as he isn't going to play but then again he has moved to quite a few clubs just to pick up the wages.
He’d be a mug to go to Southampton, imagine getting relegated two seasons in a row Seriously though, if he wants to play near enough every game then Southampton would be his best bet, but he’s more likely to get more wages with us, and then of course there’s the added extras of competing in the champions league, as whilst he might not start in the champions league he’d still come on as a sub at some point.
