I think Shaqiri would be a decent signing for you lot providing he's happy to be a squad option. I mean he's much better than what you had on the bench towards the end of the season.
What is the general thinking on the Shaqiri transfer.
.
Good player imo and would add depth, he's only 26 which surprised me
I see him purely as a impact sub, nothing more
quite like shaqiri myself as an impact sub. The only thing will be if he sulks at being a reserve player as he won't be making no impact as a sub.
So you like someone that has no impact as an impact sub?
Well i dunno what his record is like as an impact sub, but he's got the ability to be a game changer. Can shoot, dribble, cross, take set pieces.
Whether he can be bothered when he's sulking is a different matter. Not seen him play enough to decide whether he's lazy or not (only from what people say).
Maybe he's the ideal player to score some worldies when a team does a mourinho
No mate - he just got relegated and scores a worldie once a year. He's ****ing ****.
Weren't you saying that about Robertson?
Define "steady between the sticks"? Because Karius has been progressing decently and wasn't a gamble any more than any purchase is, especially at less than £5m. He's had a consistent career since he was a kid.
Allison's struggled to be first choice everywhere he's been. In Brazil he was second to Dida, who few would define as the epitome of steady between the sticks. At Roma he only became #1 after Szezesny left. Szezesny, another non-worldie. Meanwhile, Karius was voted second in the Bundesliga to Neuer. It may not be the strongest league in the world but it's better than Brazil's Campeonato Gaucho, which only has 14 clubs.
In the 2016 Copa America, Allison fumbled a shot into his own goal, which was disallowed because the ball had gone out of play beforehand. Still a howler of a mistake reminiscent of Karius's CL error, though Allison didn't have the excuse of concussion. Brazil were eliminated in the group stage.
I don't like to stereotype but Germany has a "steady" record of developing goalkeepers when compared and contrasted with Brazil. £79m is a helluva gamble for a guy who's had one standout season.
The problem for Karius is all this talk of him not been worldie enough is it could affect his confidence and the griping then becomes self-fulfilling. But if anybody can rehabilitate him, it's Klopp.
No, not me.
I knew very little of Robertson.
I think Shaqiri would be a decent signing for you lot providing he's happy to be a squad option. I mean he's much better than what you had on the bench towards the end of the season.
Totally agree. He's not the worldie he thinks he is, but he has undoubted quality and can turn matches with a little bit of stardust. I'd prefer him to Lallana, who after nearly a season out is - understandably- not the player he was 18 months ago. It's a no-brainer in my book.
Klopp you would imagine would improve his fitness no end too. When I went to Stoke away last season and he took a corner in front of us I realised what a fat little **** he is. Doesnt seem as bad on telly.
..
Tbh i'm surprised you boys arent in for him.
Still relatively young, he's cheap as chips in comparisson to what the market is nowadays and you need someone to do something special up top.
Only thing is his injury record.
Yeah apparently we were but no chance once Liverpool interested... just cutting out the middleman aren't they lol?

He would be a mug to go to liverpool as he isn't going to play but then again he has moved to quite a few clubs just to pick up the wages.
an impact sub that lacks impact - that's amazing.
