Lots of players who I haven't heard of there, SuperBri - thanks for collating these. Here's my thoughts on the ones I hadn't heard of

Of the strikers, we know all about Mitrovic and Gayle. Smolov looks good according to his stats on Wikipedia - consistent goalscorer in the last three seasons (52 goals in 72 games in Russia's top flight), 28 years old, so likely to be hitting his best years round about now. Apparently he speaks fluent English too, which can only help. He seems like he might be a better choice than Fullkrug, who is a bigger and a couple of years younger, but not nearly as prolific a goalscorer. Clearly, after last season, Mitro is our first choice, but I wouldn't mind us also taking a punt on Smolov.

Of the midfielders, Hajsafi sounds quite good - able to play centre midfield (the McDonald role, by the sound of it), left midfield or left back, he'd be a handy alternative for several spots in the team, or possibly the first choice for left back if we can't get Targett permanently. He's 28 and experienced - 90+ international appearances - and according to Wikipedia he was close to signing for us in the summer of 2014 but the deal fell through due to work permit issues. I wonder if the same issues would scupper the move again now? I wouldn't mind adding him to squad based on what I've read.
Sallai is a young (21) winger, more than that I couldn't tell you apart from the fact that he's Hungarian, so the Zoltan Gera connection makes me irrationally hopeful about him! For some reason, I can't find anything on Camara at all. Madison would be great, I'd be very happy to take Norwood and I can't make up my mind about Wilshire - he'd either be brilliant or a huge disappointment and I'm really not sure which. I think Maddison would be a better choice if it came down to one or the other.

Defenders: Flint has been much discussed - very good defender, although comments from Bristol City fans raise questions about whether he'd fit in well with our passing, possession-based style of play. Ferrari (can I be the first to make the 'I hope he's got some pace with a name like that' gag? Thanks) looks like a reasonably big (6'2" - presumably a centre back?) defender with Serie A experience and at a good age (26).
Chatziisaias is slightly bigger, slightly younger (24) and playing in a lower standard league (Greek top division). He's definitely a centre back according to wikipedia. To be honest, choosing between the two of them based on Wikipedia seems ridiculous, though the stats probably favour Ferrari.
Gonul is a 33 year old right back. Very experienced with 64 Turkish caps. Given his age and the lack of resale value, I suspect that we'd only be signing him if Jokanovic doesn't have confidence in Christie/Odoi/Steven Sessegnon for that position. This is the one I'm least convinced about, but only because of his age.

A few more for the "in" list:

* Tammy Abraham (older brother of our own Timmy) from the Dark Side on loan [twitter source so take with a pinch of salt]

* Lamine Fomba [L'Equipe]

Fomba is a 20 year old French midfielder. He turned down Spurs in 2016 to join Auxerre and has 2 year left on his contract.

* Marko Grujic from Liverpool [many media sources including West London paper]

The 22 year old Serbian midfielder was on loan to Cardiff last season and, understandably, they are said to be interested also.

Fomba seems to crop upon many reports, could it be his agent is putting his name here, there, and everywhare.

Just by way of an indicator, the three clubs promoted to the EPL the year before spent:

Brighton- £58m
Huddersfield- £51m
Newcastle- £40m

Mr Khan is going to have to dig deep to get that lot rosc. And of course there's FFP 'Premiership Variety' to take into account.

So, it seems that Villa still owe us £6M for Ross McCormack, and with their current financial woes there's talk of them paying us in kind - i.e. with player(s). So here's the question: who have Villa got that we might want? To get things started, My eldest likes the idea of James Chester. I'm assuming we wouldn't get Grealish, though to be honest, I'm not sure I'd want him. Any others?

New name in the frame is Issa Diop (Daily Mail).

The 21 year old Toulouse centre half is their captain and said to be " a great leader". We're not alone in chasing him however and his current £25m valuation could rise.

I see you're sniffing around Bennett as well.
He turned you down last season and was right to do so seeing as we finished above you.
Wonder if he'll change his mind this time. Or does he fancy us to stay above you again?

Our wide boys ran him ragged last season. Why'd we think he'd match up a league higher? More likely his Agent sees the writing on the wall.

A more likely candidate is another Joe, Joe Bryan of Bristol City. The Mirror have us down as chasing the 24 year old.

So, if your manager thinks so little of him, why has he offered £2M for him?

The names we're getting linked with is going crazy. Will mention this one though since it has the "weight" of Sky Sports behind it. Allegedly we've offered Swansea £8m for Jordan Ayew. Earlier rumours that we were interested in Alfie Mawson from them I could understand, but Ayew? What, 8 goals in 50 appearances and attitude problems. No thanks !!

The £8m is better spent on making this pair permanent which is what the Daily Star say is about to happen

I wouldn't mind Ayew, I think he'd fit into our system as long as his attitude was okay. We've also been linked with Callum Chambers. He's lost his way a bit with Arsenal (which often seems to happen when they sign promising defenders), so it would be a signing that could go either way, depending on how much of that decline is down to their coaching or to his attitude/aptitude. He's not huge for a centre back (6'0"), so I'd be happier if we're looking at him as a right back, but that could be a decent signing.

As to Piazon and Kalas, I'd be very happy to see them brought in permanently, even if Kalas did seem a long way off his 2016-17 form last season. I suspect that both of them would be squad players next season for us rather than regular starters.

Looks like this one may have bitten the dust. Swansea have rejected our approach and put a £15m tag on Ayew.

Don't think they'll get a buyer at that price. Equally I don't think he wants to stay.
Besides that, the swans need to lighten their wage bill and free up some cash. They are heavily dependent on TV revenue which has taken a big dent.
Something will have to give.

Going to West Ham for the £25m !!!
