My personal opinion with England is that the heirarchy always pressure the managers into playing to type eventually. Southgate fits the "yes sir, no sir" profile
Likes of veneables and to a degree hoddle, imo, didn't fit as they were looking to add their own thing to proceedings
Disagree that Southgate is a yes man, having been around the set up a while I think he's more likely to do things his own way.
