Yeah they are both solid signings and can come straight into the team. Should really help to make us stronger at the back next season as we were ****ing woeful at times last season and have been really suspect at the back for a few years now. I'd love to see us get Koulibaly, but if he's leaving for the prem then you know that Chelsea and Utd will be throwing stupid money around for him. Apparently we are in for him too, but he might be out of our reach.
Holding has recently signed a long-term contract, so I don't see him leaving anytime soon. Plus, he showed a lot of potential in his first season. He may not have built on it last season, but who actually was a standout player for us last season? There weren't many. In other news, just seen Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Fabinho from Monaco. I must say. That is an incredible signing. They're heavily linked to Fekir too. They could potentially have a team with Fabinho, Keita, Fekir, Mane, Salah and Firmino...that is one hell of a midfield and attack. If they get a new goalkeeper too and maybe one more attacker (for depth), they could very well be title challengers next season and could go far in Europe again. Begs the question though - how are Liverpool getting all these top drawer players, whereas the other top clubs (i.e. United, Chelsea, City) aren't?
How do Liverpool, a better supported club than us, sign a £40m+ player that everyone has heard of, out of the blue just like that while we spent weeks finalising Sokratis? I thought this **** would change with Sven, Raul, Huss and now Unai but **** me we're still ****e at transfers. Either that or someone at the club really does release news weeks early to generate tabloid inches weeks before deals happen to the extent that doesn't happen at other clubs.
Edwards is an excellent negotiator for one.. Also Klopp and the way we play is a big plus. Even though the CL final was a shambles it's given us great exposure accross Europe. Fekir and a GK coming next. Potentially our best squad in the modern era - exciting times. Fabinho was totally out the blue, even the local Echo journalists didn't pick up.on it, rarely that happens.
Arsenal fans need to chill the **** out. Twitter is ****ing out of control at the moment. Most negative fans around. The press had NO idea Liverpool were signing Fabinho so that just shows how much they really know. (very little) If we sign Socratis I'm sure he will improve our side. We have NO idea what other players Arsenal are working to bring in. The fact is Minislat is the guy who brought in Lewandowski, Reus, Hummels, Dembele, Aubamayang.. for minimal fees. The guy is arguably the best recruiter in World football over the last 10-12 years. I feel like Arsenal fans are going to complain unless we offload 200m on huge names.. and lets be honest that isn't going to happen. I think what will happen is we will bring in a few experienced players like Soractis/Leichtensteiner and some top quality youth. Which seems like a great strategy to me. Also dont forget, it was only January when we bought in Aubamayang (World Class). I feel like we tighten up the defence and we are already WAY better than most realise. This squad is full of quality. Aubamayang,Ozil, Lacazette, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mkhitarian, Monreal and Ramsey.
I'm not sure I've seen many moaning at the prospect of the players we're likely to get. All look good. My gripe is with how long it still takes us to get transfers done. No other clubs seem to be as slow as us. Painful. There's three explanations: Option 1 is we're not actually slower at all and I'm just imagining it appearing that way with stories coming out in the press. Could be true I suppose. Not sure it is like that though. Option 2 is that we aren't slower at making a transfer happen but the press do report our dealings earlier which makes it seem like we're slower. But you'd have to wonder why they'd do that to arsenal rather than other clubs? Or option 3 is that we are actually slower and that's not good enough.
I think things have changed for the better but we have to be patient and let the new system bed in fully. Bearing in mind that we've changed from a well established system that's been around for a considerable amount of time, we shouldn't expect things to change in an instant. Getting in good players in time is important but what will be the most important this season is what Enai does with the players and how he adapts to the PL. I'm more excited by that than who we get in this summer transfer window.
I'm part filled with excitement, part filled with sadness with the number of players who left us who could have been so much better for us over the years with a proper coach. Oxlade and Walcott for starters. Even Vela. And Perez and Campbell could still prove very useful with a proper coach.
Would like to see Joel Campbell back at Arsenal. He was decent for us when he managed to get a game and we need a pacey winger. Reckon he could be a phoenix from the flames of Wenger's tenure.
Although this story is Pulisic's father rubbishing claims about his son going to Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, he does say that he thinks his son's future lies in the premier league. If he's available I reckon we should go in for him. Brilliant player who can play on the wing or in an ACM role and another Dortmund link so Mislintat would have the inside edge. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-united-liverpool-and-tottenham-links-hogwash
Todays Transfer rumours 11. -----------------------------Leno-------------------------------- Bel/Litch-----Sokratis-----------Benatia---------Monreal -----------------------------Nzonzi------------------------------- ---------------------Ozil------------Ramsey-------------------- -------Mkhitarian----Aubameyang----Dembele---------- Bench: Adli, Perez, Lacazette, Xhaka, Kol/Mustafi, Cech. Hope we do go in for Nzonzi and Dembele. Kicker claiming Sokratis and Litchsteiner deals are done.
Being linked to Oblak today. Cant think of a better replacement for Cech. He's young and he's already TOP class.
Zidane leaves Real Madrid, could Wenger be tempted? Would love to see what Wenger does with some of the best players in the world and unlimited money.
Agent Wenger at Real Madrid with untold money....... bid for Kane just to **** off Spurs bid for Hazard just to **** off Chelsea bid for Eriksen just to **** off Spurs some more also Wenger could sell them a crocked Ronaldo to **** off United
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...tico-madrid-kepa-new-goalkeeper-a8377401.html Oblak would be an immense signing and a real statement
Boating wants to leave Bayern. He's still 29 so not that bad for a CB. Would love to see him at Arsenal.
