Kingsley will be our first choice left back next season and would have been had Max stayed. This may have a bearing on Max's decision to leave, as he knows he was dropped once Kingsley was back from injury, he also saw him put in a Man of the Match performance in our last game.
Max is still the better player based on what I've seen. Man of the match in a dead rubber game isn't anything worth shouting about.
Hull City midfielder Seb Larsson is close to agreeing a move to AIK, according to the Swedish news outlet Aftonbladet.
Nottingham Forest hold talks with free agent Dawson http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/05/22/por-forest-hold-talks-with-free-agent-dawson/
He's been meeting with both DIF and AIK this week but it looks a lot more likely to be AIK. Their sporting director has been telling the papers they'll get the deal done.
To be fair I could always see Larsson going, hes been our best midfielder, very replacable maybe not with the clowns in charge. Making the release of Meyler even more baffling. So we need a new backline, two new midfield enforcers, maybe another and a couple of wingers, and a decent goalscorer. Oh and pace, somewhere. Not to worry, Will Keane will fire us to the promised land, any odds on us going down?
How can those two be used in the same sentence? Surely our best midfielder would be difficult to replace?
The point is, with a squad as small as ours no one is expendable. It's just not feasible to go and replace a whole squad every year, least of all for a club with the negotiating ability of the Allams. Of course Clark has weaknesses just like everyone else, but we shouldn't be losing solid, dependable young squad players by choice. Some players go on to bigger things and you can't stop them, but it's utterly ridiculous how this club keeps shooting itself in the foot every summer by clearing out a load of steady players and then needing to sign 10-15 new ones which obviously isn't realistic. The most annoying thing is that it's obviously a cost thing and the only concern is keeping the squad as small as they can get away with - yet many people continue to actually support this strategy as if it's a wise football-based decision. It started with Rosenior and McShane and it's continued every year since.
So Hernandez to Leeds, Larsson back to Sweden, Dawson to Forrest and Clark to whoever. Strap yourself in for another killer summer
It looks like we will be looking back at our ex players with envy again, like this season Chessy, Curtis D & Big Harry have all won player of the season for their respective clubs. What a back 3 those would make.
All I have read today in the various media outlets is about players leaving, which very much is in line with what Burnsey tweeted after the player of the season awards, that having spoke to one player all the out of contract players will leave. Sound as if this is spot on.
Believe it or not, we've got an incoming rumour - The Nottingham Post believe we're in for Forest defender Eric Lichaj.
Have Leeds signed Abel yet? I’ve not seen owt but heard from somebody ITK that it was a 90% Done Deal. Last 10% appears to be taking ages. Unless I’ve missed it.
Betting has been suspended by some companies, but that is as much as I know. P.S. I did hear he likes living in Elloughton, so Leeds could be a possibility and him stay living where he is and commute. Though someone should tell him playing for TWS and living there could be a recipe for disaster.
Betting was reinstated, once people released they'd been duped by a fake Twitter account. I think Hernandez has gone, apparently he's no longer in Elloughton.
