Yeah you need the snickers afterwards to restore all the vital nutrients you lose by shooting your wasted kid across the bedroom carpet.

Dr Pepper was a good shout too.

None of this Biryani ****e that takes all day to make.

You know often, I tell the lads, when we having our private chats that you're not invited to, that

'Tel, is just a brother from another mother'

Lents cheating mate

Jesus does the whole 40 days and 40 nights and nowadays someone gives up chocolate for a weekend :emoticon-0173-middl

In Ireland the tradition is for adults to give up booze for the duration; it's too much for many, so it's just as well St Patrick's day falls around the middle of Lent - giving everyone a day off the self-denial.

Where's the drunken crow thing avatar Archers? Not happy at all, I want it back!

One of my old managers was this woman who was a Catholic converted to judaism

She used to always "know" how everyone felt. So if you had a disabled relative she "knew" as she was disabled and if you were fasting she "knew" what it was like

Her disability? Dyslexia

Her lent thing? A weekend of no chocolate

<laugh>

Doubt that was Lent.

Day 2 about to start.

So far getting the kids up for suhur has been the hardest thing

**Suhur = morning meal
As its so early in the morning there do you all go back to sleep after sholat? I eat at 3.30pm, read a bit, pray at 4.40. read a bit more then get ready for work at 5.45-6.00 getting in at 7.00-7.15 ( as we start at 0730 during Ramadan). Hate that feeling when you go back to sleep after eating and your stomach is struggling to digest what you have eaten when you wake up.

I don't sleep until after suhur, so after iftari stay up and read etc

After suhur I pray salah (sholat) and then do go to bed but just to chill a bit before falling a sleep around 6 ish. I work in the late afternoon into the evening so it works for me.

My main work of property development I put on hold

Sounds like you have it sussed. Can't do that here with work but weekends here work out quite similar. Iftar (Buaka Puasa here) is often a big deal at the weekends with all the hotels putting on big buffets to take the extended family to. Starts off with snacks, pray and then onto a proper meal. All restaurants are full as well with people sat there waiting to break fast and then everyone wants their food at once - its absolute mayhem.

Keep strong boys, it must be torturous to go through Ramadan..

Hoping it won't have an adverse effect on Salah and Mane(both practicing Muslims)in Kiev.:emoticon-0107-sweat
Cue all the Liverpool fans studying frantically to find out how many practising Muslims are in the Madrid team <whistle>
