Mixed really. From "pati" and qaida to kids who are learning whole Quran by heart, as they call it.

Never been into weed, indulged when younger but nah didn't see the fuss. Now believe it's Haram so don't entertain the idea. Big thing amongst "apne". Have a younger bro who is on it 24/7

    Wasn't judging by the way

I've had one of those lives where certain things happened at key times that prevented me doing the "bad" things long term. If that makes sense

I got into Islam, properly not the yardie way, because I'm argumentative and wanted to argue with peeps. So I would invite those Jehovah's witness lot into my house and drill them. Same with the jamaatis and that (still do with some of them)

Now I don't do certain things simply because I believe and although things like quitting smoking nearly killed me it's not an issue as such

I've done all that too..ill entertain the Jamatis because I think they mean well but I usually know more than them and my view on Islam isn't quite simply that we do and die, follow rules or burn..and that we are silly for not seeing the Marvels of the Lord surrounding us. I moved on from that in my late Teens when I started to read about the likes of Ahmed Ibn Hanbal and other great Scholars..they were deeply spiritual and for me Islam is for me to tap into my spirituality. I'm not a sucker on hard lines. I respect the rules and I agree with them in essence and know why they are there but I always leave room for human error.

I used to have a Jehovas witness friend too because I enjoyed the debate...but tbh...I got mentally exhausted with it all by my mid to late twenties, like burnout. So kind of retreated to just living my life and overcoming my own downfalls with some spiritual healing...still there today, always struggling.

I'm on the Jehovah avoid list now. It's funny seeing them trot round the neighbourhood but walk past my house. Basically a couple of their crew started to question their beliefs after talking to me <laugh>

The TJ's are same now, unless from out of town. It didn't help I threatened their mosque imam a while back because he was being a knob. Guy sent "the boys" round to my house. Unfortunately for him "the boys" saw who it was and told him he was a knob <laugh>

I don't really entertain the sufis and barelvis and they are too easy to laugh at when they get talking about points of worship etc

And don't get me started on the groups, HT and the salafi vibe ones. <laugh> . It's git to the point they run when they see me coming<laugh>

I avoid the tagging...we don't need to be pigeon holed to live spiritually. I remember once I was sat in mosque and a Jamaat was over. They were recruiting for their latest mission lol. I was just sat in my space doing my thing after my prayer and one came over and sat next to me...

'So brother, are you going to join us for 3 days?'

    'and do what? My brother'

'Learn about Islam and invite others'

'Maybe I should teach myself before I teach others?'

'We learn whilst we are away'

'for me, I need to be more convincing than to say things like 'look at the clouds and the Sun, isn't God wonderful?' You see because I already know that, inately...so I don't see how that would convince anyone and that's all I ever get when a brother knocks on my door'

    He got up and left

This is just one of many examples but a key one in me getting blacklisted <laugh>

I had a pair of those wally's knock my door once and I invited them in and offered them coffee. We sat down and I asked them what they wanted to talk about. They were so dumbfounded they couldn't remember. <laugh>

You should try the 5:2 diet if you want to drop a few pounds. Fast for 2 days, eat normally for 5. Although Fasting in this context is eating less than 600 calories.
