After various scintillating displays for the saints I think Lallana deserves to be in the England squad.I know he won't get picked because 1- he is far too skillful and as too much flair to play for England,2-doesn't play in premier league,3rd doesn't play for top 4 team...with this type of discrimination the English national team won't get anywhere.Wake up people!!Let's use the players we have at our disposal and let's not pick the one's who play in prem because they play in the top tier(Heskey). That is all.

maybe he should play as a sub in a friendly, but right now, i don't think capello et al will be prepared to take the gamble in playing him

He won't get picked because he plays for Championship Southampton. A double whammy!

Championship - 1 No
Southampton - 2 No's
Outside the Prem - 3 No's
Not at a "top 4" team - yep you guessed it, 4 No'

I do hope that, when Fabio Capello leaves, the FA will bring in an ENGLISH MANAGER with knowledge of the all leagues, and not a manager that is oblivious to talent outside the Premier League.

The trouble is that Capello has too much pressure on him to succeed that there is no chance that he will take a risk on a Championship player. If it pays off, he will no doubt be praised but if it doesn't, questions will arise as to whether we will even qualify for Euro 2012 and the pressure on Capello, which is already large, will increase even more.

So for now, we will be stuck with Premiership players. But in the future, we may see people who want to wear the shirt.

Well, I can dream...

No way! don't want him getting anywhere near it,he'll be courted by loadsa clubs if he does. Also i don't give a damn about england, haven't for a while,i know it's my country but i've always been more of a club man, saints winning something or england winning the world cup? i'd take saints winning all day long.

Playing in the Championship didn't stop Jay Bothroyd from getting an England call up last year, I think the problem with Lallana though is that he's a winger... Look at the wide players England already have: Young, Downing, Milner, Walcott, A.Johnson, Lennon, Beckham, Henderson, Jarvis etc - there's no chance he'll get into the squad with those players infront of him :/

I honestly believe that Lallana is the best technical and most skillful English player around. He is good enough but just because he doesn't play in the Premier League, he's automatically considered 'not good enough'. However, Jay Bothroyd did get called up last season so maybe Lallana will get picked for one of the future friendlies. I'm convinced that Lallana will be an England regular in a few years time, though. <ok>

rooney is more technically gifted then lallana

When capello leaves soggy face will become manager! Good luck getting lallana in then!

Whoaaa, I'm a massive Lallana fan and think he is definitely one of the best players in the championship, and hopefully a future england player, but the best technical English player? I think that's a bit far TBH

Lallana is way too good for England.

Anyway, would be terrible for Saints if he ever got picked. He'd be mixing with all those ****er england knobs who would be telling him how much their earn etc etc.

Agree with CBK. Until we have premier status the best thing that can happen is that he is under the radar till next year. When we are in the prem next year and here's to it.
