Sadly I don't think Lallana has a good enough strike power on him. With the ball at his feet he is one of the if not the most gifted Southampton player I have ever seen, but look at the strikes from Ashley Young & Rooney today. Thats the international standard and although he has scored the odd belter he doesn't threaten nearly as much especially when he has the skill to work into those areas.

Football is about much more than running hard and kicking hard. Personally think England could use a player like him and the slower tempo of international football would suit him.

Slower tempo - I think this is a terms from 5 years ago.

I cant see international football is necessarily slower tempo - look how Real and Barca play (similar to Spain national team) - that isnt so much slow - the ball was constantly moving and people running into space, when Barca dont have the ball Im not sure I have ever seen a team close down so quick.

Anyhow - question in mind - it is OK to have a man crush on Lallana (just dont go mentioning it in public)= ooooops.

And as fot England - not a chance atm!

    Who?

haha...Difficult to convey what I mean in only a tiny aspect of the game Lallana is better than Le Tissier, but that is probabley more due to natural physicality than anything else. His close control and ability to turn in tight situations are unreal.

the players don't play together every week at international level so the tempo is generally slower. The Spanish team do as they are almost entirely from Real/Barca

Interesting what rat face Gary Neville had to say about internationals being a waste of time... Although I don't listen to the bloke that often, thought he was spot on about international football, fell out of love with England team under maclaren and couldn't be less interested in it if I tried....
