Poch is a great coach, I really admire him, but those gloves came off the moment he turned his back on us. Might need to ask Laces He has had good chances to win a trophy and not delivered.
He can be criticised, of course. But alongside Pep, he’s the best coach in the league for me. It just depends whether your main criteria is “winning stuff” or “markedly improving what you have”. I tend to place more emphasis on the latter. If you place more on the former, you’re welcome to employ Sven or Claudio instead.
He needs to leave Spuds now. He has taken them as far as he can. There's been whispers already that he is heading back to Spain this summer. Who will start the game of musical chairs?
Zidane will be gone if Real lose to Liverpool and cap a dreadful season for them. Then we’ll see if Pochettino can be tempted...
Woah, lets not be hasty. ZZ needs to go with a win, that is upmost importance. I've already sealed by condolence letter to Virgil!
I wasn’t saying that’s what I wanted! 2 things left for this season to end with a high: Saints getting a point off City, and Real thrashing Scumpool in Kyiv.
Just seen the footage of this incident. It's a bloody joke. I tend (when not blinded by SaintsVision) to be supportive to refs. I often would watch my dad ref local games and was amazed at the abuse he recieved. I also did a bit of reffing during the 7-a-side tourney I used to run in Sussex. It is not an easy job, ever. BUT. Refs at this level are well paid and have enormous influence on a Club's finances and player and manager careers. Their silence and unwillingness to be criticised is rather insulting. They need to be encouraged to explain decisions and admit mistakes. Technology only confuses the situation at the moment imo, I really do think refs should always have the final say on the pitch, but they need to be accountable and more honest regarding what seems to be a falling standard over the last few years. As well as looking incompetent they run the risk of looking plain silly otherwise.
Where would you rank Klopp out of interest? Other than him I would agree if you're using the word 'coach', I think there is others that are better managers than him though. I think he'll stay one more year and then possibly go to United. Would still be surprised if Real game in for him.
Depends on what the club is and how far you’ve got them. At Spuds he’s improved them markedly but now it seems they are at saturation point. He needs to do something else with them or leave.
I think he’s up there with the best, yep. (Jose/Pep/Pochettino/Klopp - then probably Conte/Dyche/Houghton/Rafa possibly even Wagner - not in any order).
